It's true but it didn't help McLaren once the media turned on him. The thing is to have friends in the press corps I think. Obviously it is harder for foreign managers to have that as they are most likely to be coming in from outside. As you say I think it does depend how many friends you have in the press, but I can't really think of too many British (club) managers that have got alot of stick from the press in recent years, perhaps this is partly because there are so few British managers at the big clubs (where there is most pressure).The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment

I have a bit of a horrible feeling that Lucas is only a mistake or bad game or two away to be replaced by Poulsen and then sold on.
Dunno why, I just think that sooner rather than later, Roy will choose Poulsen over Lucas and flog him.
