Under our current circumstances I'm inclined to agree - we'd probably only see about a 10th of that available to replace him.

He's a world class player and in this day and age, world class players cost a fortune. Ronaldo went for £80, Kaka for £60m, Torres being spoken at £70m. ****ing Milner quoted at £28m.

So if someone wants to buy Lucas, they can pay £54m or **** off.

Lucas is a workhorse, he's never going to be a crowd-pleaser. He performs dirty work in a very effective and efficient way and he's improving significantly every season. He's not worth £54m, but he's worth a lot more to us than the paltry figures which are being suggested.

If another team would like to offer £54m for him then he is definitely worth that much!

Would depend on how much we could sell him for and who we could bring in to replace him. I'd say the same about any player who played a significant part of last season.
