At home to Chelsea and you would put Lucas in when he's so slow, gives freekicks away in stupid positions and plays at least 3 hospital passes per game that get us in all sorts of problems?? He was very lucky to get away with a few passes last night, very lucky.

We don't have a finisher. We've scored **** all goals this season. Even if we start with an attacking line up, there's no-one there to get the goals. I would play it safe against Chelsea and then try and nick the goal.
Lucas was immense last night imo. Best individual midfield performance this season.

With regards to Allen, I think we need another solution long term but at the moment I would start him and pack the midfield. I'm sick and tired of teams slicing through our non-existent midfield. It's time to get tough and move forward from there because we don't have the firepower we did last season at the moment.

Lallana has to start too. Our best player atm. His workrate is immense but he also needs other players round him to do the same otherwise they'll just pass around him. Really interested to see what Rodgers opts for on Sat.

Joe Allen does a job, but what actually annoys me is how utterly useless he becomes when he finds himself in some fantastic attacking positions. I still have not forgiven him for that miss v Everton last season.

It's not really his fault. We should never play him that far forward in the first place. He's garbage as an attacking midfielder. Not suited to it in any way. A fish out of water.

Stevie off the bench for an impact sub... it's time we started to realize he is not going to have the legs or the mental fortitude for 90 mins...i would prefer our rather SG coming on with 30 mins raring to go against the chavs

You're kidding right? Intelligence is literally all Lucas has going for him. He doesn't have speed, legs, box-to-box fitness, goals, assists, range of passing or even tackling ability.

But something makes him key in that position (when he's fully fit as he finally seems to be this season and Gerrard is not next to him). Intelligence is the only thing left.

Well Rafa / Napoli or any of these other clubs should have made a half-way respectable offer for a player of his stature rather than trying to scalp us with loan offers and pathetic deals.

Honestly I'm not convinced about Lucas' attitude to all this, I get that he wants to be playing but he has not really brought enough to the table for us of late to justify a first team place and we have a right to expect a reasonable, market-rate return on our investment in him from potential suitors.
