By that token the domestic clubs should be managed only by the domestic managers and players in clubs should then also be only from the countries of origin.
In reality it should be the best man for the job irrespective of nationality.

Surely if its the best man for the job irrespective of nationality then the same applies to the players? Should say Xavi be allowed to turn out for England if he feels like it one day?

It is happening on the similar scale as many players are not playing for the country in which they were born but the country they have imigrated to, or have distant blood relatives through their parents, grandparents etc.
Clearly UEFA and FIFA have allowed foreign managers to run different NTs as they do not see a problem there.
Bottom line is if there is any good manager in England that is capable of doing decent job for England this would never be an issue.

That's been going on for ages with the likes of the Republic of Ireland. I don't remember the inclusion of Aldridge and Lawrenson (amongst others) being described as a form of cheating.

It is going on all the time and includes some top players. Ibrahimovic is playing for Sweden and he is born in Bosnia, Subotic is playing for Serbia and he is born in Switzerland, Pepe is playing for Portugal and he is born in Brazil etc.
No, I've never heard anyone describe it as cheating. I've only ever heard piss-taking in relation to the Irish grandmother angle as a way of getting in on the international scene.
