And obvious piss takeOriginally posted by baitman View Postwhat about... skrtel
But sure he's fully committed and a bit of balls, which is rare in our team and what a captain needs... No so sure he has the organisational skills though. We really need a leader in our captain... I like hendo but no so sure he's a leader... He may grow into the role though with time.
Lucas would be my choice. Tactically aware, committed and a bit of balls about him. But sure he always injured and will probably leave.

hes probably the most vocal senior player. as you say, dont know if hes the most aware tactically though. lucas, if it wasnt for the fitness and want away issue would be ideal.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Lucas would be my first choice of the current squad, and I would have went for him as VC when Carra gave it up, but his injury record (and now the fact he may be out the door) more or less ruled him out.
Skrtel I think would make a decent VC, but there's not 'enough about him' to be the captain. Popular with the squad, long serving etc. Fine to take over the armband and launch into the tackle to gee up the crowd etc, but could never see him leading.
Not mad about Jordan as captain, but he has come out of his shell in recent times and showing some balls against opposition scumbags and refs, but he'd be down my list, character-wise, as captain material.
In a squad which shows real issue with mentality, pride and fight - there's no real perfect option for captain. Who'd have thunk that ?

yeah I suppose it's what everyone has been saying about us, absolutely no leaders. What we wouldn't give for a Jamie Carragher or Sami as captain. Instead we are left with players waiting for someone else to do something.

Think he made a run or two for both, though I think for France it was a friendly, and PSG was due to injury.....not 100%
Not an immediate captain for us for me though, as he'd be better off just concentrating on remaining available to play, never mind being captain. Well liked player in the squad you'd think, **** hair......maybe down the line."I will make the boys feel your support"

Maybe....but while its not unheard of for new players to come in and captain sides, it rarely happens with established clubs.
I like Henderson, but there is a bit of a 'captain by default' vibe from him. Perhaps he will continue to grow into the role in time.
New manager might have something to say about it."I will make the boys feel your support"

What you have to take into account though is this is a very different team from last season that he played .. Suarez and Sturridge playing in front of him ... teams set up differently against us now .theres less space and its little or no movement in front of him ... this makes his job completely different... previously he could chase down players because there was space too .. now hes one of 8 players all in the same area ... Hes a player for me who always turns in a solid 8 .. sometimes 9...occasionally 10 ... put him in a team with the right players he has room to move to the next and final levelOriginally posted by Lecter View PostIts nothing to do with the last few games
I dont think hes been anywhere near as good defensively this season as last
Attacking wise hes been about the same but his energy levels have been lower all season
I am still pleased we have him signed up though
