Hamman is still the best player I have seen play that position, and he started as a more attacking player at Newcastle. And I do see a bit of Hamman in Henderson.

But then I have been moaning abiut not replacing Mascherano ever since.

I think its clear Henderson is not ready for thar role yet. Maybe his reading of the game is just not good enough.

Agaun, I think Can is alsi better further forward, and doez Keita really have the discipline to sit there considering his offensive potential?
Hamman was top in that job. Always seemed to be in the right place to tackle or just close down the angles when necessary. Loved him.

      I know, right?

Most boring **** of a position, but Hamman would be my first name on the team sheet. Noone else could do what he did in our team.

2 examples of how his presence was super important. 2 managers who clearly never knew what I know.

      Houllier v Bayer Leverkusen

We were 2-1 up, half an hour to go in the away leg with an away goal. ****ing good position to be in. Houllier apprently wanted more attacking play and took off Hamman for Vladi... we lost 4-3 on aggregate.

      Benitez v A C Milan

You all know this one. 3 nil down at half time being pummled. Hamman comes off the bench and suddenly we can even carry Traore and still put 3 past Milan. Smicer came on in that match too.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Don't feel he is clever enough on the ball and natural enough to be a playmaker.
He starts talking absolute bollocks in a cockey accent?

I know we should all just agree everyone of our players is great and we are brilliant in every game.

              Sideways and backwards passing

Alonso and Hamman were great at receiving the ball and already knew if they had space to turn into.

From the BBC after England's two WCQ.....
                  Jordan Henderson (central midfield) 4

Another very poor performance. Spends too much time passing the ball sideways and backwards. Not the midfield creator England need and his place will soon be under threat.

Sounds like his performances for us. If only we had some serious competition for his position as holding mid.

He is playing like this because he is not a holding midfid.

Julian Weigl would be a good shout for me.

You mean because he plays as a holding midfielder.
                          Are we winning?

imo if he wasn't the captain he would have been dropped by now. Agree with lads though he is being played out of position, balance in that midfield has been ****ed for years.

It is nice to have x6 forwards/midfielders chasing rabbits and ****ing the opposition but we must also be flexible enough to protect the back 4 properly when required.

It is no suprise that Leicester suffered and Chelseas fortunes surged when Kante jumped ship. We need a time served defensive midfielder, only then will our defence reduce the number of goals we concede.

You honestly think when Klopp is picking the team that he's thinking 'I'd love to play Can in the holding midifeld role, we'd be so much stronger, but that ****er Henderson is captain, so I'm going to have to put up with his **** again'?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
