I think this is only partially true. Our play was generally very slow and laboured compared to the last few weeks. Even when we drew them out a bit, by the time we got near their back line they had been able to get their ships in order, leaving us little space, or often just the option of lobbing a cross in and hoping for the best. I think a lot of that is Henderson.

To be fair 8 of their outfield players barely moved out of their two banks of four for the entire match

It's sad to see

Going back to when he was in top form...before he started missing large chunks with this foot issue....his biggest asset/influence on the game was always his engine/stamina and a bit of sharpness....he's never had Gerrard influence/goals or xabi passing, mascherano tackling or hamann positioning but he was a decent all rounder with a hell of a work rate

So basically at his best he's mediocre, hence is not the level onf center mid we need to be where we want to be. Never rated him, needs to go.

Yep I’ll agree with that. a sad demise but the saddest part is that he’s still our captain & he’s still starting matches.

It’s your fault my opinion of him was pretty good years back I think but yeah I believe we need better now if we are to challenge for honours. But in saying that we did win the CL with Djimi Traore playing

Yesterday was 4 years to the day that we thrashed Spurs and Flanno scored. I only know this because it was on Facebook. Henderson was involved in everything. From the highlights reel he looked tenacious, energetic, creative and effective. I feel really gutted for the lad because he was a far better player than the one we're seeing at the moment
