Well if by getting what Rodgers is trying to do means turning us into a mid-table side then Allen has succeeded.
I agree Henderson isn't amazing either but come the end of the season everyone will agree that 15 million was a total waste of money for Allen...

Midfielder Jordan Henderson is keen to keep his place in the Liverpool line-up against Tottenham on Wednesday, after two successive starts against Young Boys in the Europa League on Thursday and Swansea in the Premier League on Sunday.

"I need to really start kicking on and showing what I can do. I'm still improving but I was delighted to get a start and I think I played some good stuff as well," Henderson, 22, says.

Watching that compilation against Swansea, I don't think it was too shabby, some nice control and a few clever passes, not many, but a few. It looked a lot better than the **** I saw of Allen diving around conceding needless fouls outside the 18 yard box misplacing passes, missing tackles etc.

Jonjo will start against Spurs I reckon, with Jordan a sub. Jordan seems to play better as a sub coming on with the last 20min or so as he knows he has to get a move on. But I think Jordan's been asked to support Allen like Sahin, and as far as I'm concerned Sahin isn't a def mid, he's shown at times that he's good at getting in the box and putting the ball in the net. Jordan for me played his best football at Sunderland as an attacking mid as well, so the balance is wrong really.

Goal (Udinese) and assist (today) aside, I've been impressed with his bossing the senior players. He gave Suarez a right earful for not playing for the team against Udinese and today Gerrard was shocked to hear Hendo in his ear in midfield. At first Gerrard was about to give it back but succumbed like a lamb.

I always liked Henderson. He lacks confidence but he was always a tidy player. It'll help his confidence if Rodgers keeps playing him in his best position which is CM. He should be a contender with Allen for that spot next to Lucas in midfield.
