He didn't do that well last year when played out wide but he did well there yesterday alright. Crossing isn't his strong point but hopefully GloJo makes the overlapping run for him. His through ball for Suarez' s goal was sublime.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Its nothing more than a coincidence we happened to lose the last game (that was almost a week ago...) and I've posted this, I've just popped on here for a read and seen this thread, and the Henderson love is just simply something I find very odd.
Read more into it if that if conspiracy theories are your thing, its just my opinion.
      Agree with this.

I find him a frustrating player. Get him anywhere near goal and he chokes. People always probably think this but Technically I'd back my favoured foot over his.

Don't see any real talent, just see someone athletically strong, who looks okay in a side playing well.

      He's a 6/10 player, to Stevie's 8.5/10

Didn't it take a deflection into suarez's path?

Yes, but it was going to Suarez with or without the deflection.

On Jordan, well he's been very good this season. Played very minute of every game and played in a multitude of positions. People will say his engine makes up for many deficiencies, true enough, but then I could say Beckhams crossing made him look better than he was. Fact of the matter is that his engine is a great attribute to have.

I have watched him in many games this season and his willingness and ability to track players and close them down is staggering. Not only that, but he's more than capable of going on surging runs late on in games and I'd be willing to back the fact that in seasons to come he'll win us many points thanks to a late drive at the opposition.

Another point to make, Henderson is one of our most skilled players and technically he has the lot. All that is lacking is a bit of confidence and a single minded ness to trust in himself and take things on. But I am starting to see that. He's come close to scoring on a number of occasions and I would say it won't be too distant in the future when he's getting ten goals in the league year after year.

I know many of our fans would rathe we signed a player like Di Maria or something to take his place, but he actually brings balance to our side. He helps bolster the middle of the park, brings energy and drive and his link up play with Glen on the right is fantastic. He's also a team player, willing to drop into a position to allow Glen to look good and take the glory.

All he needs to add is better finishing and we will finally have a player that Kenny thought he was getting when he signed him. He was signed for the future and he'll be one player that they got right.
          Forwards.......

I should also add, he's started to make long cross field balls, switching play and bringing others into the game. Gerrard he is not, but I haven't seen him **** up one yet. That likely means he needs to be more willing to take things on and **** up than just play safe, but things like that are creeping in and he's finally starting to gamble.

                  And he's your love child?

                  Personally I don't buy it.

You either have the talent to make a difference at the sharp end or you don't. When push comes to shove he seems to bottle it. He's not an 18 yr old first team newbie. Fed up of watching him miss the target.

And the deflection was a huge part of putting Luis through on goal. I could have played that pass. It was a poor pass made into a good one by a bit of good luck.

Sorry to be down on him, but I don't see the quality we need. We need someone who takes a few chances, not balloons them over the bar.

That was'nt a deflection! It was a carefully aimed ricochet.

Anyone who is still down on Henderson is either not watching or is just too stubborn to move from their original opinion from when he joined. He's a terrific foil for the attacking options in the team. Amazing energy and links up terrifically with others in the team. Good movement and a real commitment to the cause. Such an improvement from when he looked crushed by the transfer fee and expectations from the fans.

I love the reasoned debate you find on football forums.

I love that people never take what people say and twist them to their own agenda

                            It's what makes it fun.

                            Crack on with the misrepresentation..

The deflection was a pointless observation to make though. The ball went exactly where it was intended to go, it was great vision.

He's growing into the squad and is a very important member of it. I don't see what else he has to do to convince everyone that he merits his place, other than the unrealistic - like scoring 20 goals a season.

His hard work is very good, but he really does need to improve his finishing and final ball (yesterday's was very good, but his final ball is all too often poor).
