Back 3 were good tonight Can had a wobble early on but apart from that they defended well.

Yep. The man who said Sterling wouldnt make it as a Premier League player, Sturridge is a poor mans Defoe and calls Glen every name under the sun calling other opinions "embarrassing" is brilliant.

Anyway, he was good again tonight, thats 3 really good performances in a row now.

When a player is playing ****, say he's playing ****. When a player is playing well, say he's playing well. Bit of balance. I'm not saying people are abusing him any more or less than anyone else... just to swallow the pride and give credit where it's due

He was good

Drops far to deep sometimes and needed a last ditch on Hazard to dig him out of the hole he got in after dropping 5 yards off and playing him onside.

Probably his best match this season I'd say.

Outstanding is a bit over the top.

Can was more proactive in defending on the front foot; Markovic and Moreno filled in nicely and Lucas was tremendous. Throw in the fact Chelsea didn't come to attack and Skrtel had a relatively easy game.

... Yet he was still retreating and still playing with his back to the ball.

I don't think anyone hasn't given him credit where it's due but as Chazza and Muddled have stated he makes the same errors time and again. If he can get past the dropping deep issue he's a decent defender but it happens time and again.

Today he's played well as he has the past couple of games but the same underlying issue of dropping too deep is always there.

Yeah if Skrtel could keep these levels of controlled aggression and concentration he'd be a much better player. He's in decent form just now, he needs to absolutely keep it up and not let his mind wander.

He's been goods but his dropping off invites pressure and causes us needless issues.

If he can work on playing as a unit then happy days but I stick by him not being the answer for the long term.
