He might be able to argue it was merely a bad challenge rather than something as bad as an off-the-ball deliberate stamp on a prone opponent.

          No chance.

He will get done for that.

I am not sure he will be charged.

Didn't seem to noticeably move his foot out of its natural movement and it didn't look like he went for it with force.

Just dont think he made any effort to avoid it.

The FA banned Costa for a stamp and they will ban Skrtel for this one.

He will miss Arsenal away, Blackburn away and Newcastle at home.

                He'll (rightly) get 3 games.
Gives us a chance to play Lovren central in the 3, factor in that Lucas is likely to be back in the team for those 3 games and I'll wager Lovren will look a much better player

Martin Skrtel: FA to assess clash with Man Utd's David De Gea

The Football Association is to review an incident involving Liverpool's Martin Skrtel towards the end of their 2-1 defeat by Manchester United.

The Slovakian defender, 30, appeared to tread on United goalkeeper David De Gea during injury time at Anfield.

The FA says it is "looking at the incident", which prompted angry exchanges between the two players.

It is waiting to find out if referee Martin Atkinson saw what sparked the clash, which continued after full time.

I'd bet a million pounds that Atkinson didn't see it.

He would have sent him off if he did.
                      Oh I don't know.

But they also over looked the other stamping incident, which they could do in this case.

I think the thing that favours Skrtel is that he made no deliberate motion, it was all part of the stride pattern, much as Costa's second incident was.

The thing that won't go in his favour is him having a look at De Gea's leg.

He knows what he is doing.

He's been charged. Expect 3 game ban.
