He won player of the season one year under Rafa, but this season his level has been up there too.

Are you sure? For me his best form came under Kenny and Clarke, as I had written him off before that and was surprised at the consistency he found. Under Rafa he played, 14, 21 and 19 in the league, so if he did win it I'm assuming in was in Rafa's last year and he won it by virtue of only playing half the games, so was only half as **** as everybody else.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe won player of the season one year under Rafa, but this season his level has been up there too.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yup, completely. The back 3 plays to his strengths in a 2 I'd be concerned about his positional sense if needing to actually mark someone, he's shown time and again that he can be rash and impulsive tying to win a ball that's not there to be won and cost us goals.Originally posted by Chazza View PostDo you think it comes from him not directly having to mark anyone?
Many times he is now the covering man making the last ditch tackles whereas in a 2 he has more responsibility to pick someone up and that's when his decision making can go and he dives in.
In a back 3 he's been great if we move back to a 2 I'd want to see someone else come in to partner Sakho
