Not a stamp in any context ... unlike the Gerrard incident which was clearly intentional. His momentum was carrying him forward and he couldn't stop in time. The look towards de Gea is a natural inclination when a collision is imminent and tells nothing of intent. Perhaps he shortened his step to avoid standing on his abdomen or genitals? Slow motion does not always provide a better vantage point.

The charge, if anything, should be about his silly reaction afterwards. He should have apologized and moved on, not gotten all testy with de Gea.

But the FA, with their finite wisdom and under their selective enforcement policies, will probably crucify him.

I dunno, I would contest it. With De Gea's forward momentum on the slide, and Skrtel moving forwards, it would have been difficult to get his foot down in the area provided and as he was already in mid air, if he had tried to hurdle him i reckon he'd have ended up coming down on De Gea's chest. At full speed, there seems to be little that can be done?

It's less intentional than, say, Costa's on Skrtel that he got away with, but I think Skrtel knew what he was doing.
Unfortunately, the FA don't charge people unless they plan to fry 'em.

I was slightly dubious about Costa getting banned for his 'stamp' on Can, and I'm also not sure about this one. There's no way of knowing the intent and there is no way of reliably determining it from the footage. I think we should definitely challenge it, unless Skrtel says he did it.
