The tackle itself was clean, but then Shelvey kicked out at Shelvey afterwards, possibly in self-defence as he may have thought Jonjo was about to step backwards on to him. Penalty decision was Skrtel's reputation for wrestling coming home to roost really. it was bound to happen at some point.

For the penalty he had his left arm over Bonys shoulder and around onto his chest. Anger had it covered, didn't need to touch him. I can see why it was given. That said you'd be giving yen penalties a game if we're going to be consistent about it.Comment
