Surprised this hasn't been bumped yet.

Some important clearances yesterday and a vital goal. Another great performance.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yet another great performance. Not bad for a liability.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Couple of dicky moments though too, alongside auditioning for WWE on every corner... and there was the handball too. He's been a great performer this season and his goals have been massively important, but he doesn't half make me nervous at times, especially in games like that.

Yep, a couple of mad moments, that handball was utter stupidity but thankfully in the last 6-8 weeks or so he seems to be winning us games rather than costing us games like he did at City, Chelsea, Hull, Newcastle etc earlier in the season. Awesome to see.

Generally he's been excellent and merits his standing as our #1 centreback.

I'm surprised so many have voted for him in the MOTM thread, considering some of those shaky moments. He had some seriously headless charges up field against City players as he has a habit for doing, and it nearly cost us 2 goals. The Silva chance that nearly made it 3-2 for example!

Had some great moments, but also some shaky ones.

The good definitely outweighed the bad IMO.

I can be quite critical of him at times, but attacking players are always giving the benefit of the doubt when they play poorly but score, so to add a goal on top of a decent defensive performance constitutes as a good performance IMO. According to the stats he made 17 clearances (as many as the other 3 put together) and having watched the game back he made some important blocks and a couple of important last ditch challenges. He did make a few errors, but I definitely thought the good outweighed the bad.

agree the good more than outweigh the bad.
he is often doing extra covering for other team mates who are out of position, maybe they havent seen the movement or are not playing with the mental alertness that allows them skrtels level of anticipation. it was good to see him being a bit more vocal and bossing others about.

I've been critical of him but he's improved as the season has gone on. Still not the best at his main job and I'm sure he could be improved on defensively but his pluses outweigh the negatives right now so it wouldn't be a priority.

Definitely, got much, much better, had a nightmare of a December costing us goal after goal but has improved dramatically since. Was costing us these types of games earlier in the season (shambolic on both goals away to City, completely lost Eto'o for Chelsea's winner at Stamford Bridge etc etc) now he's helping us win them. An excellent turnaround.
