Rodgers had no scouting system in place this summer. He strikes me as someone who will sign players based in their attitude and personality, so will only bring in players either he's worked with or those he's scouted heavily.

Hence, this summer we signed Borini & Allen, who he'd worked with, & Assaidi who he'd scouted at Swansea.

At Liverpool you can look at players in a different bracket, so I think this January we'll see some different calibre of players linked.
    Forwards.......

Lets hope so after the disasters of the Hodgson & Dalglish windows it would be great to see some serious investment in quality.

I have a lot of patience for Rodgers. He's won me over with the way we're trying to play, even at times when it wasn't working. The guy knows his football and is very straight forward at handling things. Good performers get games, bad performers get dropped and reputation or age doesn't come into it.

I believe our issues revolve mainly around personnel, but the system itself is promising as well as BR's faith in youth. We won't win anything this year and we won't get top 4, but if we ever wants to have a chance to do so again, we need to be patient and think long term.

Will be interesting to see if thats still his outlook when he inevitably buys the odd high priced donkey or 2........

Well, he bought Borini, who is going to end up a dud IMO, but Borini lost his place to Suso before he got injured. There was no persistence to play him. That was very encouraging.

As with Rafa and every other manager, there will be duds brought in from time to time. It is inevitable. But if the overall trend is one of improvement and the duds get moved quickly (Rafa was ruthless at this, and more often than not he broke even or made a profit on them), then that is great.

What we can't afford is for the really big money players to become duds, and big money liabilities. That is what dogged Kenny's reign and probably sealed his fate.
                Oh I don't know.

We seem to be the kings when it comes to buying duds which is frustrating.

We do get some quality on but mainly they're duds.

Borini is still a kid, too soon to say he'll be a dud surely ?

I know people can make judgements and are entitled to, but a bit too early imo to make a considered opinion.

He could end up being a good servant to the club, maybe not our star name going forward, but did anyone expect him to be ?

I think Borini will be a good signing. I don't see him in the same mould as say David N'Gog. He was the true meaning of a dud. Quite frankly it was amazing how long N'Gog acted as a backup striker for us.

However, Borini has shown intelligence and hard work in his play, something Dirk Kuyt has made a career out of. His movement and hard work have caused problems for opposition defence . I think he will be a very useful backup striker to call on while he is young and I believe he will be improving steadily enough every year to challenge for the first team .

Of course, its a bit of an early summary but so far I've been impressed by his application.

He needs to get some goals but he doesn't seem a natural fit for our team.

We need players that can naturally mould into the team and the Liverpool way of life and understand what it is to play for us.

                                The following have

                                Reina
                                Jones

                                Skrtel
                                Agger
                                Carragher
                                Wisdom
                                Robinson
                                Johnson

                                Gerrard
                                Shelvey
                                Lucas
                                Suso
                                Allen

                                Sterling
                                Suarez

The rest need to understand what it is and what it means, not what it takes to play for this football club and this is why I'd **** them off.

There are even some locals that I mean in this message. This is what we should get across to the players, not how you play but what the club means to others and not themselves.

If you are willing to put the effort in to show what the club means to you and that you're willing to do for it whether that's on the pitch or whether you're having your picture taken in Liverpool One or at the Odeon IMAX.

That's all that matters, that's all we want to see.
