      I could be wrong though.

      Often am.

edit: Could just be that some people don't like him, so anything he does is gonna irk.
Football is littered with cliches and similar sound-bites. We only get bored of hearing about it because of a need to fill 24/7 news channels, blogs, websites, newspapers, forums, etc. The amount of media work required by the manager and the need for certain media related clauses in contracts show how bloated it all is.

I think you've got it right at the end of your post: He could be grumpy and negative or beaming and positive and he's going to get picked up on it.

No that's not quite the word. It's more a word to describe the vocabulary someone uses as always elaborate or grand. There's no modesty

Verbose is the word I think you are looking for. Someone who over explains everything.
          *Except Michael, who died.

            Verbose, bombastic, supercilious?
            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I'd say bombastic is closest to what I was trying to say. Mainly due to the fact that the same terms were being used last season even under poor form.

Just to kind of clarify my initial gripe, I'd say with just 3 games in, it's not the time to be using superlatives in a PC yet. We still have so much work to do but it's been a good start.

Out of curiosity, Maxiedge, what has Rodgers said exactly in this press conference? Is it this:

Me too, but that may not be news I really hope he does well, I just feel that sometimes he can dial it down a notch, like FSG say, promise little but over deliver.
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I'll admit, in isolation this is totally fine, but when everything and everyone is outstanding it kind of loses all meaning. And I have to say, even though I chipped in, this is not a big deal IMO.

Hodgson wasn't that bad at after all.
                        Oh I don't know.

IMO Hodgson promised little but delivered little though, but I'm not going to argue with you there, you clearly have a different opinion.

It's interesting though, every little thing he said, no matter how innocuous, lead to pages of abuse on here. If you don't like someone, everything irks. Ask anyone who's divorsed.

yes it is Mudds. In isolation, I sound like a miser picking up on that but it's to do with previous.

Looking back on it, it's not a big deal and I shouldn't have said anything but I did also mention him blabbering away the game tactics pre-match vs Arsenal which was weird.

Not at all Weatherman. Hodgson delivered less than nothing, despite doing his best to make out that scrapping above the relegation zone was an achievement.
