I'm concerned with what the game plan is this season. Hitting short balls to eachother, then when there's no outlet lump it up to Benteke? If that's the case then this could be a long season. I don't believe we'll have a solid defence at all. It's very early this season, but it's worrying. It won't be long until Sturridge is seen as our shining light, which is madness considering his injury record. Anything we get out of him before Christmas has to be a considered a bonus.
Unless there is really something special this season, I feel this season should be Rodgers last. No trophy's, little progression, the football changes every season and has declined a lot. In his first few seasons there was everything about 'Rodgers style' now that's a thing of the past players have come and gone, but we don't appear to be more competitive. Excluding the one season which in all honesty was driven by the form of Suarez and Sturridge, there's not a lot of good memories during Rodgers time here. It's very early this season and things could change/improve dramatically, but I'm pessimistic. Even if we have the right players (which I don't believe we do), I don't think that Rodgers is the man to get what we need out of them.

Is Klopp that manager? If not who should it be. I believe we have good players but they are not being used in an effective wayOriginally posted by baronvonskidmark View PostWe have some good to great players. We just need a compotent manager who can manage to get the best out of them. Not Rodgers imo.

Agreed. Is Klopp the man? I don't know for sure and I'm not calling for Rodgers' head, more venting my frustrations at what appears annoyingly obvious to me.Originally posted by microbe View PostIs Klopp that manager? But it's pretty certain that 4 more years of Rodgers would be 4 more years of the same old mistakes.

Football fans are so fickle though, the other day most people thought Rodgers was great!
Now if we beat United in the next game the people slagging off Rodgers today will be singing his praises again.
I haven't seen any signs that we're developing a system or that our problems have been addressed. We do have a better first team and squad than last season so our results should improve, with better coaching we'd be able to compete for the top four with the players we have in my opinion. I doubt very much we'll be doing that with the present manager.

Not much more to say with this. We need a very good performance against the Mancs.
"The first goal is a cheap goal and that gave them a motivation and fight. The second was a mistake, which can happen. We started brightly and then had Coutinho sent off. I didn't think that was a sending off and neither was the one for Noble as well.
"We didn't defend moments well at all. We need to be much better than that. That opportunity to work the goalkeeper didn't happen. We are disappointed but we'll reflect on it and come back and look to win our next game."

If we beat Utd it will be an oddity rather than a sign of improvement in the team. We have been playing **** for a few months now with the odd decent performance. There is no sign of an improvement in performances. We won at Stoke with a moment of individual brilliance and beat Bournemouth with an offside goal. We could have lost at Arsenal had their legitimate goal not been disallowed and we were very poor today. This is on top of finishing last season with a run of atrocious performances so I think the sooner we replace the manager the better
