Apologies for asking a question that has almost certainly been raised - does the two week break give Rodgers time to plead his case or merely enough time for the owners to make the change. Anyone think FSG will drop the bomb?

Didn't we pick up 2 points per game in that run with 3 at the back? Like I said it wasn't great to watch but undeniably we got results.

There is no case to plead. If you really think they're going to bomb him out after the first loss of the season

I thought his comments coming back to bite him in the arse had gone away. 3 games in and it starts.

(Lovren) We brought him here because he believe he can believe he can be a top class defender and although it’s only the early stages the partnership he’s had with Martin is proving that
Defensive work has paid off. We are doing extra sessions on every aspect of our defending in terms of in-game static and moving positions and our set-pieces.
"We are putting in an awful lot of work into that organisation, it is one of the things I picked up on from last season.

Personally I don't but the owners know that a certain well regarded German is free and would be interested. They might just wonder why Rodger's cant win a game at home to a side with one fit striker a 2nd choice keeper, a second choice right back and so on (esp with the failure of last season still fresh in the memory). They may also be concerned that a 20 million CB can't defend.

I would suspect in their eyes, they are happy ... he takes young talent and turns them into first team players ... for all the hyperbole west ham aside we've had a decent start ... I'd say he has only a couple of those types of performance before he will be shown the door .... very much finely balanced for him ... the veneer of safety was wiped away Sat .... if he likes working for Liverpool Fc he best keep Dejan ****ing Lovern as far away from the first team as possible ... he was at fault for two of the 3 goals conceded and he did Gomez no favs for the first

                      Until it stopped working.

I spent most of that run saying it felt like it was going to go wrong at any moment. It was very unbalanced and I hope we don't revert to it. He basically stuck 6 bodies in the defence and hoped a bit of magic got us a goal. Turgid. Not gonna win anything with that approach. IMO of course.

As someone pointed out yesterday, he has an uncanny propensity to big up exactly the player or issue that will go to **** that very same weekend.

I know it's only one loss but we knew that it would only take one thing for the pressure to be piled back on Rodgers, after what happened last season. Losing 3-0, and losing so comprehensively at Anfield to West Ham is absolutely unacceptable.

One game though. We lost one game and he abandoned it immediately.

I think you're clutching at straws in the hope he's going to be ditched after 1 loss this season, never going to happen after the money and investment made in the Summer on players and coaches not forgetting the huge financial burden it would take to firstly remove BR and his team and then replace them with other multi million pound contracts for Klopp and his staff and obviously come January Klopp would want to bring in his own players.

                              Absolute fantasy land.

Yep, dreadful management. The guy is constantly threatening to implode and after a couple of decent performances gets bigged up in public and one can imagine Lovren thinking he has become a footballer. When a CB needs to be a defender . Different thing entirely. That idiotic waltz up field when he lost possession summed him up.
