There is certainly hesitancy in a lot of our players. I can't tell if it is the sort of thing where it will click and we'll become a machine or a bit like the three at the back system last season where the balancing act to make it work is to precise - too many things have to work perfectly.

I had hoped that the introduction of a new coaching setup would have helped to clarify our tactical thinking. I do think a real possibility is that the issue is a lack of leadership and courage in the players. There have been several TV/radio programmes about the England 2003 rugby team on recently and something that seems to come up a lot is how the players took a role in shaping and specifically simplifying Woodwards tactics at times. That is something it is hard to imagine our current team doing.

In his defence he did some good things, he shifted out a lot of deadwood but went on to replace it with other. He bought some good players too but anyone that brokers a deal for Andy Carroll for £35m should be put in a padded cell.

We played ok in patches against Bournemouth and got lucky with the goals at either end, it happens. We played fantastic first half against Arsenal. It's gone wrong since. Yet a win tomorrow and we are back in the mix. I'm done with Rodgers until my anger disperses from the utd game.

We've been **** all season apart from for half a game against a woeful makeshift Arsenal defence and even then they scored but it was wrongly ruled out.

That FSG wont go near Klopp, I'm going off them too tbh. This ****ing club has been a mess for years with one sorry decision after another, nothing but clowns running it.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Not really, knowing myself fairly well, I don't think I will ever forgive that utd game. We went afraid, we set up **** and continued to do so throughout 90 minutes against a woeful home team. Rafa dropping crouch from CL final was the start of the tipping point with him. Once it's there, its hard to shift.

Yes. Unfortunately for Rodgers the new coaching set up will probably take a bit of time to get results and time is a precious commodity for him at the moment.

We've played a good 45 mins vs Arsenal who lost their 2 first choice CB's before kick off, were blessed vs Stoke & Bouremouth & hideous vs West Ham & United. We were ****e last season apart form a mid season run. This isn't some new thing. I think that's general consensus Bob.

It is early days, I don't think anyone thinks we are going to get relegated ffs. People can spot that there has been a distinct lack of plan and the ethos of the team is all wrong. Would we all love it if Rodgers turned around? Of course we would!! The top teams in the league have got that bit worse but the fringe teams have got that bit better too. Regardless of everyone else, we have to look at ourselves, define and fix the problems we have as a team....which are many. I hate this bull**** about looking at other teams & praying they lose so our **** ups are capitalised on every week.

When you look at a team and the manager & the players don't really seem to know what to do, there's a bit of a problem there.

Been discussing this with Chazza last night. Looks like the appointment of O'Driscoll and McAllister has maybe brought on a general level of consensus as to tactics than it was before. The level of our football for the first 5 games isn't really Rodgers's identity shining through.
                    Are we winning?

Jamie Carragher has just said on sky that putting Sturridge in the team tells us that Rodgers is under pressure. He said he can understand why he has done it but "no manager or Brendan Rogders in his first two years would put a player straight back in the team after being out for 5/6 months as it's not the way the game works now". He also said Rodgers is probably thinking he is fit, we have four homes games and he knows if the games don't go well he will be out of a job.

Big risk but as said he's under pressure,BR has gone from saying there's no time scale on Sturridge coming back as they don't want to have him injured again to possibly being the team today.

I'd rather take a chance with Origi than rush Sturridge back.

I don't think Sturridge would be playing if he was at risk of picking up another injury. Danny would refuse, as Rodgers has moaned about in the past. He always used to refer to Suarez how he would play through the pain and any little niggles, whilst Danny wouldn't.

Clearly Danny is fit & available to play. What it comes down to is if he can have an effect on the game without match fitness. I think ideally we'd rather not risk playing a player who may be off the pace. And this is where the gamble comes in.

I think Danny has showed in the past he doesn't need match fitness to have an effect on a game, but that invariably was with Suarez doing the running. Might be different today. Personally I'd have started Ings and brought Studge on for the last 30mins. I'd have then played him for the full ninety or as much as possible v Carlisle & Sion and then went from there.
