fsg might be better advised re; baseball but for soccerOriginally posted by CanadianRed View Post...Where does the patience/faith they have in Rodgers come from. Completely baffling.
they need to ask opinions to get an idea wtf is going on as the football is the wrong shape.
they will be asking ayre and he is a prize helmet. a little yes man clique but slowly choking the life out of our club.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The rumours are that john henry doesn't like Rodgers at all. In the summer he wanted him gone but again Werner and mike Gordon convinced him or out voted him. But he isn't convinced by Rodgers one bit.
However both Werner and Gordon back him.
What is surprising is that we have wasted more than 50 (maybe even more) million dollars in transfer money and no one has lost their jobs. Maybe if Rodgers is a decent coach and the transfer committee is hindering him by poor signings, then someone on the transfer committee should have been fired. The reward for blowing millions in the summer of 2013 and 2014 has been more money to spend in 2015.
These lot make Commolli look decent.

Rodgers saving grace is that season he turned it around before the collapse. Anyone backing him at boardroom level could hold off on a sacking in the knowledge he could turn it around again.
Personally I think Rodgers has a few key dates coming up which are tough hurdles to get past. First he has to make it to the International break, Villa & Everton in the league. Regardless of the Villa result, that game against Everton is massive. If we get turned over there will be hell.
Make it past that and he will get at least until that run of tough fixtures is over. That's a lot of tough games and it's a hard run even without pressure. Squeeze through that and he's into calmer waters and easier fixtures and then he needs a good finish to convince FSG to keep him on past the summer.Forwards.......

Motson is right. There is an agenda. And there are certain people driving it.Originally posted by Nicey View Post
The agenda is that we believe him to be an average manager and the certain people driving it are 90% of the fan base. Rodgers is getting by at present because his atrocious run is cut in half by the summer. It started last season and then there was a big break and many calmed down and settled on giving him more time.
The 6-1 was the last game and then everyone forgot about the football for a while. Now he's been given a stay of execution, a ton of cash and people on the outside see it as just 6 games. Knee jerk terrortory in other words. If we were 16 games in and the results matched our current run he'd be getting hammered from every corner.
IMO he can consider himself very lucky that last season ended when it did and can consider himself very lucky people are forgetting about last season.Forwards.......

This club should take a long hard look at Man Utd in the Ferguson era. A poor season was second in the league. He lost big players and his team was forever evolving. They're not based in London either, they're based in the North West.
They didn't make excuses for anything and accepted all the pressure that came with it, far more than what this club ever gets.
This club is making excuses and is always looking to accept mediocrity. It seeks out that small excuse and embraces it. There are always excuses. Every season and every game. X was sold. X was injured. X will take time to settle. X was someone else's signing. We were unlucky. It was a bad refereeing decision. We had no time to train. Too much pressure from the media. Expectations too high.
We could get relegated and this club would still be looking for the excuses.Forwards.......

It will be very interesting. I feel sorry for Brendan because he must be under big pressure......however, he doesn't really help himself either. Also, the stuff he is coming out with is sometimes bordering on the ridiculous.....
He will blame the tough away fixtures but to be honet it could be the West Ham, Norwich and maybe Villa (?) home games that could get him the bullet. Had we got 2 points as opposed to 6 v Stoke and Bournemouth, then it would be hard to see him still in the role now.
If i was brendan, i would be tempted to play my strongest possible team v Carlisle - with the intention of giving the defense minutes together and also giving the likes of Sturridge and Ings (assuming Benteke is out) time on the pitch to get goals and find some form for the league matches.

That can't be done anymore. You just tire your players out and is often why squads of limited numbers will struggle when they treat the Europa League with a degree of respect.Originally posted by Tee View PostI would go back to the old school method and always play the strongest available team, no matter who the opposition is. Have always detested our chop and change methods (long before BR did it tbf).Forwards.......
