He sounds Scottish more than Northern Irish in my opinion.

Both accents do sound fairly similar anyway but always thought he was a Scot before we signed him.

Yes, from his accent I thought he was Scottish.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

If anything, his Irish twang seems to have re-appeared from his time at Swansea IMO.

It's not like there's much difference. Welsh, Scotch, Irish - they're all c**ts.

Something I really like about Rodgers is the rappor he seems to have with the players. He was laughing and joking with Lucas and Allen before the hearts game. There are photos of him with Sahin and Assaidi where they're all laughing together. We're seeing his professional side, but he seems to have a good character and seems a really likeable bloke. The only trouble with guys like that being in charge is that sometimes they can become 'too friendly' which makes it hard to 'be a boss' when they need to.

Also, one of my biggest worries would be whether he would show enough ambition in the transfer market - which can sometimes be the case with 'lesser' team managers moving to a bigger club. But fair play, I think the Sahin deal shows that he's aiming high. Tello as well.

I think last week against West Brom shows that it's going to take time. And I'm sure that over the course of the season we're going to get frustrated, but I am going to do my very best to keep a sense of perspective and give Rodgers time. We need to be patient. It takes time for a club to develop a style of play / identity. Look at how Swansea have hit the ground running this season. Would Laudrup have West Ham playing that way? No chance.

I really think we've got the right man for the job. Now let's hope we can get a good result against City this afternoon!

                      Always works well.

Me too, think he's going to be excellent for us and am going to enjoy this season. There will be an unbearable amount of drivel from the usual suspects though if we drop points again today which would be a shame.

Yes, the west brom result was a ****ter and shouldn't have happened, but we looked decent until it all went wrong. Today is one of the hardest games of the season so although we might end up with played 2 lost 2, it wouldn't show much about our prospects imo. Especially as new players are bedding in.

A little influence of Mourinho here.

Brendan Rodgers on siging Nuri Sahin.
“I promise players three things,’’ the Irishman reflected of his talks with Sahin. “The first is my communication. I won’t bluff players, I’ll be totally honest and open with them.

"The second is that they’ll become better, that the quality of work will improve them as players.
Jose Mourinho at Benfica. (Jose Mourinho by Luis Lorenco, pg.33)
I made them two promises. The first was my guarantee of 'quality work', with which they themselves would improve, both on an individual and collective level.

The other promise was that I would be 'direct'. I wanted them to be sure that no matter what decisions the coach took in relation to Benfica players, they would always be the first to know, and they'd know it from me.

just saw a 'sneak peek' of the documentary and Br gave Sterling a bollicking for saying 'steady' to him , said he'll be on the next plane home with an attitude like that and said none of the youngsters have done anything in the game yet also said that the team that lost in the training match have lost their bonus

Have to say I'm really impressed so far. No bull****, making tough decisions, clearing out those players he doesn't fancy pretty effectively, signing players he wants not who the media think we should sign, getting Sahin on loan, and starting to make us play decent football. It's really early days, but the signs are excellent.
