I don't think that is unreasonable thought.Originally posted by clanhuman View PostI have my doubts of us even being in a Europa League spot at the end of the season. Maybe that is a negative outlook but there is so many other good teams around us now. I don't expect much.
Rodgers said himself recently that being 8th would be good for this year and if that happens we will miss out on EL.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

8th is about the position I see us on current form. I'd really like to make the Europa League as it is great experience for the youngsters. I hope we can push to get in that spot.Originally posted by Mostar View PostI don't think that is unreasonable thought.

Maybe the owners have been too lax with this.
By saying they dont expect top 4 this season theyve effectively taken the pressure off rodgers and given him a load of excuses.
Im sure than when avb got the spurs job they would have told him his absolute minimum objective was top 4. I think they might have given rodgers too much leeway.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Agree with this.Originally posted by Nigey View PostTop 4 was an impossible ask. Dunno what you're all expecting to be honest. If we finish 6th I'll be delighted.
Rodgers is doing a fine job.
I'm still not 100% convinced by Rodgers, but the man needs a lot more time before we can judge him.A humble guy with healthy desire.

Anyone read the latest tripe from tompkins.
For a change its pretty good. However it does highlight rodgers win ratio of 25% is lower than hodgsons. Its even lower after todays result.

Rogers seems to be too in awe of Gerrard who has under performed all season, he needs to remember who he is managing and no player is bigger than the team and drop Gerrard.
We cannot continue carrying passengers in the team, BR's decision making was extremely poor today. Joe Cole is never going to be a game changer which is what was needed would have been better bringing on Suso.
Needs to think alot about Wednesday and sort things out because Suarez was far too isolated for too long today.
According to stats we have failed to score in the last 15 mins of any game this season that needs sorting outLast edited by souliv; 25-11-12, 06:59 PM."All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

Difference is that 4th should be far more achievable for AVB, seeing as he inherited a squad which had just finished 4th and then spent another £50m on it.Originally posted by el matador View PostMaybe the owners have been too lax with this.

Exactly what I was thinking. Then I remembered the mantra I've been shouting for years to managers gone-by: "Play the f*cking man in form you ****".Originally posted by souliv View PostRogers seems to be too in awe of Gerrard who has under performed all season, he needs to remember who he is managing and no player is bigger than the team and drop Gerrard.

To be fair to Rodgers, he's showing everyone that if you show him enough he'll give you enough chances. Sure Cole and Downing aren't going to be with us long term but its a lesson for all (Sterling, Suso, Shelvey) including hopefully Gerrard soon enough. One tit for another.
