I don't think that is unreasonable thought.

Rodgers said himself recently that being 8th would be good for this year and if that happens we will miss out on EL.

8th is about the position I see us on current form. I'd really like to make the Europa League as it is great experience for the youngsters. I hope we can push to get in that spot.

By saying they dont expect top 4 this season theyve effectively taken the pressure off rodgers and given him a load of excuses.

Im sure than when avb got the spurs job they would have told him his absolute minimum objective was top 4. I think they might have given rodgers too much leeway.

Its just a ride at the moment, its a huge learning process for young players and a manager with not much to choose from.

Rogers seems to be too in awe of Gerrard who has under performed all season, he needs to remember who he is managing and no player is bigger than the team and drop Gerrard.

We cannot continue carrying passengers in the team, BR's decision making was extremely poor today. Joe Cole is never going to be a game changer which is what was needed would have been better bringing on Suso.

Needs to think alot about Wednesday and sort things out because Suarez was far too isolated for too long today.

Difference is that 4th should be far more achievable for AVB, seeing as he inherited a squad which had just finished 4th and then spent another £50m on it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Then I remembered the mantra I've been shouting for years to managers gone-by: "Play the f*cking man in form you ****".

To be fair to Rodgers, he's showing everyone that if you show him enough he'll give you enough chances. Sure Cole and Downing aren't going to be with us long term but its a lesson for all (Sterling, Suso, Shelvey) including hopefully Gerrard soon enough.
