Completely agree, but this is a forum where we should be able to vent and air our frustrations. Come kick off time we are all behind the team, no matter what but this place would be bloody boring if thread after thread was just positive wouldn't it? What would we discuss? The weather?

Fact is we are 11th in the league, out of the League Cup, needing to win in Udinese to get out of a pretty **** group in the Europa, playing a LB at LW and a LW at LB. Passing almost for the sake of it and most of that in our own half. And the ease at which Swansea run at us and penetrated the back 4 was just astonishing at times, I mean FFS we made Routledge look like Messi a couple of times!

I am just frustrated with it all right now tbh. And the over hyping of some of our players is starting to do my nut in as well.

I like what BR is trying to do, but IMO some of his decisions in the last couple of weeks are starting to look a bit desperate.
It was never going to be any different. We need to give him until at least this time next year, assess and see if there are real improvements compared to now.

Of course he's going to make mistakes. New club, he's trying to get to know most of the players here and adapting tactics to suit the team.

Some people have been expecting way too much and are far too impatient.
                Are we winning?

I personally thought we looked a lot more solid at the back, and conceded very few real chances.

I'm not against Mr. Rodgers here, but I do think that the overall cost of implementing this godforsaken style of football, is too high. I don't care how we play if win, for instance we have sometime just invited pressure at the back by dawdling around with the ball passing it between defenders, I'd have thought that the more time the ball is in our half the chances of losing it there would increase.

I'd like to see us go a bit more direct, hit teams on the counter more, Sterling and Suarez could do some real damager that way IMO.
                        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I don't think this is going to happen - look at Barcelona and Spain, they frequently forgo a counter attack to maintain pressure. It's not the only way to play but it has been shown by those two sides to be an effective on if done well.

Lots of styles or changes in personnel take time to bed in. People are very keen for the British game to look to models in foreign countries until comes to the point where some pain has to be undergone short term to reach the final functioning style of play. It is clearly a risk (no one has really tried implementing this type of thing in the PL before) but one worth talking IMO.

agree we need to be moving our game forward, but to be totally blinkered is a little stubborn. we all know about the plan [blah blah] but it needs to develop and grow as other players are added to the squad and it becomes smoother. in the mean time we are compromising results for stats.

He made the point about the ethos brought in by Rafa Benitez, the seed planted by Pep Segura and Borrell and said about how he met Brendan Rodgers when he was reserve team manager at Chelsea and helped introduce him to Vicente Del Bosque. He was already a nut on Spanish football by then. He then made his point when he asked Andy Heaton (the interviewer) how long Rodgers had been here.

I know we don't like to use the word 'philosophy', 'project' and all this other management terminology, but let's face it, we are a side putting our hopes and dreams on teenagers, inexperienced signings and expensive flops. We have a manager with a plan willing to take that on with a board who know as much about football as I do about quantum mechanics. He has defined his style of play to us and has made it abundantly clear who he doesn't want.
Damn it, just read his interviews this morning. Once again (he did this at Swansea), he talked about a large outgoing and incoming of players to make his own squad. This relates to his idea about getting to his destination as quickly as possible, but doing it 'clinically'.

It's so easy to forget the state we're in now. Yes, the amount of chances we're creating (or not) is a bit of a concern, but look at the team. We pin our hopes on Lucas Leiva, yet he's been out for the best part of a year. Nuri Sahin had a bad injury at Real Madrid, yet we expect him to walk in and play like Alonso. We have expensive flops in Henderson, Downing, Cole, Carroll (still on the books), whilst hoping that Suso, Sterling, Wisdom etc transform into mentally strong stars overnight to propel us into 4th.

Yes, Rodgers' interviews are a bit cringeworthy at times (seven and a half role anyone?), but give the man a break. He's no Hodgson. We knew what he meant even if he was trying to be a bit too clever. He's show a strong awareness of our problems and is doing his best tactically, even if some of the decisions don't come off. He may not be a La Liga, European Cup winning manager who'd have eaten kangaroo testicles to manage us, but he is what we have, a coach known for his patient, possession based football with intelligence. Do we have intelligence in the side? Not a chance.

I can only hope for a massive summer of players being booted out, Wisdom, Sterling, Suso with a whole season under their belts, and more technical players with pace and intelligence being brought in. Lucas would've had 6 months of football, Allen and Borini settling into the way of things at Liverpool and hopefully, we can kick on and have a Dortmund/Juventus/Montpellier style season.

So many of us have talked about patience and understanding where we're at. Now it's time to walk the walk.
All this should really just be common sense. I struggle to understand how other fans don't see it this way too. Sometimes I feel people make their mind up on someone straight away and trying to change their opinion would be damn near impossible. I just ignore all the impatient few who won't give Rodgers any breathing space to build his own team. Far easier that way
