Which is funny as when the window shut you were saying how great our squad now is and you are really happy with how the window went. How a couple of games can change everything hey.

Because the club said so, Barca said so, and the player said so. I think that's pretty conclusive.

It has been well documented that Sanchez wanted to live in London as opposed to Liverpool. We don't know if LFC made the right effort with wages we were offering.....if we give him an extra 2m a year, then it is possible that he would have joined us instead??? We will never know....

Same with Welbeck. I think he would have been brilliant next to Sturridge with Sterling behind them both. The movement, flexibility and hard work that Welbeck would have given us would have been great. But would he have left United to come to us? We will never know. Would United have sold him to us? Even if we threw in an extra £2m or so?? We will never know....it would have been brilliant though....

When it became obvious that Suarez was going to Barca though, then i would have liked the club to raid them as well. Yes we missed out on Sanchez but Song would get in our team now. Affelay or Tello would also.

You could easily turn that around and say we are as ****e as when we had Hodgson as our manager and that dodgy ex-rangers Greek dude at the back...

Also, rodgers (and the committee) spent £17m on Sakho....... and another £20m on Lovren......£12m on Moreno....


In reality, it wasn't a problem last year because we were scoring 3 or 4 goals a game....... that stopped and now we are focked...

i think the whole season rests on about a half dozen IFs to be honest....

IF Sturridge and Balotelli can form a partnership....
IF Joe Allen can come in and keep the ball
IF Lovren can become a leader at the back
IF Emre Can can be good enough to offer the defense protection


too many uncertainties for me to be honest....

100%. I don't get it. Being so deep negates almost all of his strengths. Hodgson does it with him in the England side but I can't believe Rodgers has taken to it as well.

I think Woy copied Rodgers.

Problem is that keeping him back hides lots (but not all) of his weaknesses that otherwise would be horribly exposed if he were played in an advanced role.

Just watched the west brom press conference and he contradicted himself. He started by saying we're in transition because we signed loads of players and we needed them all because our squad was so weak, but then he says ideally he would have kept the same squad and just added one or two others to strengthen the squad.

He likened our situation to when he first took over (because there are so many new faces) and has said we had a difficult 3 months but the work we did put us in good stead for the next 18 months which were brilliant.

I hope we don't have a poor first 3 months this season or we're going to be screwed ha!
