It is almost hard to believe how far we have fallen since last season.

We've basically been **** every game this season, even at Spurs, I seem to remember at least a couple of clear cut chances for them...at first you kind of hoped it was a short term blip. A hangover from last season and from losing Suarez, but it is clearly far worse than that.

I think Brendan thought he'd cracked it last season.

I think he thought he had stumbled upon a winning formula. So, this season has been chastening for him. I think he is a decent manager - but the lesson he is learning is a hard one. It is impossible to see him surviving this because we look as though anyone could beat us. Brendan is making some bizarre statements (chucking Mignolet under the bus, when realistically any number of player could be blamed is odd) and some of his chat from last season just looks foolish now. He has become reactionary, making decisions on a whim, hoping that something will work for him - but not seeming to have a master plan. This must be apparent to the squad, and if he has lost the respect of the dressing room, then he has no chance of fixing this.

What a ****ing mess. It could only happen at Anfield.

      Was thinking the same thing.

Rafa - guaranteed top 4 for the next 5 seasons but pragmatic football
Klopp - a lot of fun and plenty of free flowing fast attacking football
De Boer - Imo would be a rocky 1st season as he gets to know premier league cliches like stoke on a Wednesday night in February. No guarantees thereafter.
Simione - would turn us into animals but this would require like rafa a high turnover of players to keep the intensity levels.

For me rafa Benitez is the obvious choice as he is in the last 6 months of his contract at Napoli but would require major surgery to the squad to get his 4231.

Klopp would bring some excitement and freshness. Also he would be the one able to work with the existing squad rather than have 10 leaving and 10 coming in. Also there's a good chance we will get to see the best German talent at anfield who will play for klopp. Ditto for rafa and Spanish players.

Rafa or anyone else is a guarantee of **** all.

There is absolutely no chance FSG are going to offer Rafa a job, none whatsoever. He is too controlling, too argumentative, plays the wrong football, and would be too divisive amongst the fans. He doesn't tick any of the required boxes.

              What boxes?

Does any manager tick all the boxes?

He had his hands ties behind his back half the time and the rest of the time he was wheeling a dealing to fill the gaps in the team - Phillip degen ?

He wont have to do that now. Fsg aren't short of cash and they have spent a lot of money since Rodgers has taken over.

Rafa will give us champions league every season. How he does it is a different matter altogether.

That's pure guesswork. The idea that he guarantees us 4th just isn't true.

No, but they tick at least a few of the owners requirements.

Good people are difficult to manage. If he gets what he wants he will keep quiet. There aren't many people out there with his tactical brilliance. Hes shown it many many times and that's something Rodgers has never done.

Hes never outwitted much better teams / squads like rafa did. Juventus, Madrid, Barcelona, very good man united teams, Chelsea, ac Milan.

Brendan Rodgers cant offer us anything in that category. Not even close.

Hes done it before in this league. He knows what it takes.

We're not going to need European experience for a while.

You're going to be very disappointed then when when he doesn't even get an interview.

                              Wouldn't be so sure.

I like rafa but I think klopp is the better fit to our players / squad profile. He plays a 4213 / 433 and we already have the tools to play those systems well. Balotelli, sturridge and sterling make up a front 3, with Henderson can and perhaps coutinho feeding the front 3. Markovic and origi as the subs for those front 3.

Rafas 4231 isn't as easy to replicate. Henderson / Lucas as the 2 in midfield, sterling, maybe Can as the number 10 and lallana. Sturridge up front but that leaves a lot of players in forward positions not getting a game.

I think klopp could easily work with what he has but rafa would need a new no.10, and possibly a wide player to stretch defences.

Liverpool’s owners remain behind Rodgers, though as Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish and even Damien Comolli can testify patience will not be limitless. – Paul Joyce, Daily Express
