It is very rare for a club to sack an assistant manager and the rest of the coaching staff whilst keeping the manager. Rodgers is clearly being undermined and no one is going to convince me otherwise. It's just a question of whether he will walk. People say his ego will stop him from doing that and they're probably right. However, Rodgers ain't seeing out the season imho.
If you look at their track record they have no qualms in firing someone if they believe they are not upto the task. They are smart enough to know that a poor manager will cost more than 9 million in the long term.

I'm actually very happy with the changes, but much like our early moves in the transfer market, it's all dependant on who else comes through the door.

He would if he thought it was a stepping stone to the top job. This has a real smell of that about it regardless of who comes in. Whatever number two is appointed it will be someone ready to be number one if Brendan ****s it up.

Sorry Marcus but I think that's classic made up internet bull****. How on earth would some keyboard warrior know the terms of BR's severance package. He has 3 years left on his contract so on that basis it's worth £3 million per season if he was sacked now, (which he hasn't been) and I would also be astonished if he's on anywhere near £3m at present.

"Jay" also needs to consider the fact that any payments due would likely be reduced once BR had another job so unless he sat on his arse for (up to) 3 years the millions wouldn't (necessarily) keep coming from FSG.

IIRC the Bodge and Dalglish both did very well when they were paid off. If FSG are astute as they're made out to be I don't think they would have made the same mistake (for the third time) when they drew up his terms.

Some info from the review: wasn't #BR's idea to sack #Marsh & #Pascoe #FSG told him what was going to happen

@LFCZA this is what I was told last year, club under evaluation and there will be changes behind the scenes as..

To come to a conclusion with this review and evaluating the club #FSG have been taking advice from a third party who know much more than..

they do as I have tweeted before explaining this, #BR has kept his job but is by no means safe and still under review #LFC

            Ceri23_LFC ‏@Ceri23_LFC 29m29 minutes ago
Plus I don't think it will be #BR who will choose new staff members.

@ceri23_lfc So you think he could still be sacked before the season starts?

            Ceri23_LFC ‏@Ceri23_LFC 27m27 minutes ago
@KevinusPrime I don't have any info that it would just be speculation tbh personally I think he will be given at least a few months.

@LFCZA are FSG trying to force Brendan out?

            Ceri23_LFC ‏@Ceri23_LFC 21m21 minutes ago
@BhazLFC @LFCZA their apparently not trying to force BR out just doing what they think is best after receiving advice from a third party.

FBI noc ‏@nocturnalvin 32m32 minutes ago
@LFCZA that media brief after Stoke was a clear indication he wasn't 100% safe despite ITKs claiming credit now.

            Ceri23_LFC ‏@Ceri23_LFC 23m23 minutes ago
@nocturnalvin @LFCZA he's still not 100% nobody really knew right up until just before the review.

Lots of rumours about a Pako return.

Pako's hill will return to Melwood then.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Taking power away from BR and sacking his assistants is basically sending the message that FSG don't trust his judgement and that is bound to have an effect on BR's morale/performance in the job. I can see why this has been done but not sure if this will end well tbh.

Slight correction, Bodge was in place when FSG took over, so they had nothing to do with drawing up his contract.

                        Brendan Rodgers

It's all speculation, none of us know anything about what goes on behind closed doors in Melwood or in the dressing room, nevermind what was said in the meeting.
Everyone is speculating guided by pre conceived perceptions on Rodgers. For all we know Rodgers felt he he brought Pascoe and Marsh as far as he could and to succeed as a manager that wants to win trophies he had to make tough decisions and axe his mates and bring in better pedigree coaches. And if so, fair play to him, it took balls.
If the owners didn't trust Rodgers he would be gone, simple as. Every successful manager has good coaches behind him. So I find this everything is Rodgers fault slightly distasteful.
But that's just my opinion. It's all speculation.

Of course, if he's on borrowed time his replacement will want their own support team around them.

Length of contracts of newly appointed coaches might be a pointer as to how secure BR is? I can't see long contracts being awarded if there's a chance they'll be sacked in just a few months.
                            I don't need a lift, I need ammunition

Pako thing is rubbish. Saw it mentioned in an article a couple days ago but very offhand style since hes heading off from his current club. So the rest are saying hes a choice for us. No way would he be a number 2, especially after leading his previous team to some super rare cup wins. I forget the details. Theres a cup or 3.

Kinda bull**** that really. Pako left in 07- rafa's best team by far was 2 seasons later in 08/09.
