I imagine like Rodgers they are pining everything on Sturridge.

Problem there is that, Sturridge is nowhere near reliable enough with fitness, coutinho will be gone next summer and Henderson as much as I like him isn't good enough to make a that big a differenceOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostJames Pearce @JamesPearceEcho 13h13 hours ago
@Gareth0Bradley You can't let a manager spend £80m on players he wanted and replace backroom staff and then sack him after 2 defeats.

@Gareth0Bradley he will get the chance to turn it around but he's under real pressure.

@Gareth0Bradley I understand why many want change but I just think having stuck by him in summer FSG can't backtrack so early in season.

Good teams should still be capable to put in decent performances even without those best players. Not play like 11 castrated headless chickens.
QFT, the true test of a managers capability is not when he has everyone at his disposal but when the injury list takes its toll. If Rodgers is waiting for that magic moment when everyone is fit and firing then he might as well forget it.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

These are fair enough I think, I don't think it is realistic to expect FSG to sack him just yet. A couple of insipid home performances in the next two could change that perhaps, but alternatively if we pull ourselves together just enough we could have 13 points from 7, that isn't quite sacking territory yet even if something more fundamental is obviously wrong now than just results.Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostJames Pearce @JamesPearceEcho 13h13 hours ago

I wouldn't bet he'll see out October though at this rate.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

As much as I think they should do it now, I don't believe they will
However it will happen sooner or later as he won't turn this around.
At best he will stop the boat capsizing but it will just tip back the other wayBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He's not the first manager to bizarrely rate one player over another. Hodgson's anti-Agger crusade, Houllier with Heskey over Litmanen or Fowler, Rafa spurning Alonso for Gareth Barry...Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostI'm starting to wonder just what Sakho has done to Rodgers to be treated as he is being? Our best defender and he can't get in the team. Kind of males me think that the rumour about Rodgers alienating committee signsing might be true.
I think Rodgers has got himself into a crazy muddle with his CBs. He doesn't trust the paring of Skrtel & Sakho, and he's right not to imo *shudders*. Skrtel somewhat by fluke went from being bombed out to no.1 name on the teamsheet, which has left Rodgers almost by default giving Lovren another go alongside him, to predictable consequences.
With all the business we did last summer, some of it involving admitting to and trying to correct previous errors, that we didn't move to replace both Skrtel & Lovren if possible with someone suited to play with Sakho seems a big error of judgement. One climbdown too far perhaps.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
