Same situation as with tradesmen in the UK, you have all these bloody foreigners coming in and whilst they might well do a better job, that's not really the point is it?

Another stat... Apologies if it has been posted already
Post second world war on 10 occasions we have had 8 points or less after 6 league games. Houllier is on the list once, souness once. Brendan Rodgers is on that list three times.
So out of our 10 worst starts in the league after 6 games, Rodgers has been in charge of 3 of them.
Again, I haven't checked to see if its true, but if it is that's **** by anyone's standards.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

There is a clear xenophobia / misguided sense of patriotic loyalty in the football media in this country, it's crystal clear. Not on this forum, not among the fans (mostly)...but the media. There's not an ounce of pressure on Rodgers from the press. It's all coming from the fans - and rightly so. I didn't want to bring this up cos, of course, my foreign example is Benitez. Rodgers has spent and squandered a **** load more money than Benitez did, and his results are worse. Everything is worse. Yet Benitez got absolutely slaughtered from all quarters in the media. I don't need to go on about it (but remember Keys, Gray, Redknapp, Ronnie Whelan, Houghton etc - all of them FFS).....we all know what it was like. He got ****ing ruined. Those same people are preaching "give him time" about Rodgers. It's senseless, illogical and I can only conclude they're all xenophobes.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Good point well made.
Benitez got slated for rotation, Rodgers doesn't just change players every game, he changes formation every 10 minutes in a game.
Same happened with Hodgson of course. Old white English guy, give him time because he's one of us.

As ridiculous as this may sound, I think a lot of it is down to wanting to see a British coach succeed in a big role.
Let's be honest, we're still a huge club regardless of what's happening at the moment and our recent history, we're one of the great successes of this country in football terms and I believe that is the reason why so much of the British press want home nation coaches to succeed.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

I'm not sure that's the case, I think we've slipped so far down the pecking order since the demise of the bootroom legacy with ferguson's dominance and the emergence of the sugar daddy style bank rolled teams that we are no longer a real threat to the top four, yes we could scrape a second place but let's be honest that was a flash in the pan. It's a sad truth that to succeed at the highest level today means you need silly money to buy the best. We no longer have the dosh to compete.
The resigned chatter on here regarding Coutinho's future emphasises the point, we can apparently no longer hold onto our best players from the lure of the super rich.
The game has changed so much since our glory days and it seems we've now lost our way.
For me just give us good football week in week out, make us proud of our team win or lose.
And maybe one day another messiah will come and we will rise again.

He seems like he has lost his balls to me and like all modern managers keeps pissing on the fans with not taking competitions seriously like last year drawing at home with Bolton and Blackburn nil nil both times.
People are going to games and being bored ****less watching us play middle of the park going nowhere football.
I was really hoping getting in some attacking players we would be going back to 2013/14 season again but that looks like a pipe dream,
