If Lucas had been fit he probably wouldnt have startedOriginally posted by The Birdman View PostYou can multiply the hysteria of being knocked out by 100 if Rodgers hadn't started Gerrard at Wembley.
That's the ****ing circus we're dealing with these days, an undisputed great of the club but I'll be glad next season when we can focus on the team not 1 player every ******* week.
Lucas not being fit gave us little opportunity but to play him
Yesterday the thing that struck me was that all the permutations that Rodgers had available were all equally ****
If we left Gerrard out and moved Can into midfield that would have meant playing Toure at centrehalf
Then you have players like Johnson, Borini & Lambert on the bench "offerring alternatives" to the ****fest served up on the pitch
IMO his hands were pretty much tied but that said the failure to adequately fatten out the squad in areas that has mattered has completely ****ing killed us this season
I certainly wouldnt be in a rush to find more money for Brendan to spend this summerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'd prefer it if we added to the squad with the likes of Milner (who I think would get into our first choice side in about 4 positions) Garbutt and Ings all on frees (tribunal for Ings) as replacements for Lambert, Enrique and Gerrard.
Then went all out and spent whatever budget we have on 2 or 3 proven players.
Those 3 would strengthen our squad and still be on much lower wages combined than the 3 outgoing ones.
Buy a right sided centre back, centre midfielder and striker.
Rodgers has proved he can improve young/er players and he also got the best season of Suarez's career out of him.
I think he can work with players at either end of the scale, the ones in the middle he struggles with. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Frenchie
That would be fine and dandy but the reality is we will bring in Milner as a marquee and the likes of Ings and Williams will be touted as the big premiership proven names and 4 unknowns will be spunked with the rest of the cash...Originally posted by The Birdman View PostI'd prefer it if we added to the squad with the likes of Milner (who I think would get into our first choice side in about 4 positions) Garbutt and Ings all on frees (tribunal for Ings) as replacements for Lambert, Enrique and Gerrard.

I have been following this club for over 50 years. This man is head and shoulders above every other player I have seen. He was never my favorite player for various reasons but for all round skill, class and influence within the team he is number 1. If we had a hall of fame, he would have pride of place.
I would have 4 people in that hall of fame.
1. Steven Gerrard.
2. Bill Shankly
3. Bob Paisley
4. Kenny DalglieshThose that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I have said this before but Gerrard is easily our greatest ever player in my eyes, and also the best English player I have ever seen. A genuine bonafide legend who will be missed next season and beyond."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I'm sure many will agree, I put Kenny in my H of F because of his contribution as a player, manager and man and because his overall contribution to the club has been magnificent.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI'd still put Kenny ahead of him but its very close, which is probably the biggest compliment I can pay to him
I placed Stevie above him because of his contribution to the club during a barren spell when the club has often been dire, his shining light pulled us through so much ****, often on his own, plus his ability to play in any position and nail it, this just gets his head a bit higher above the parrot pit, than the other 3.Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.

In terms of as a player and I mean solely as a player I have Kenny just aheadOriginally posted by kev776 View PostI'm sure many will agree, I put Kenny in my H of F because of his contribution as a player, manager and man and because his overall contribution to the club has been magnificent.

I know Gerrard did a ton of work on his own often with not much around him, however I think a lot of people underestimate what Kenny did
Between 77-87 when he didnt play the rest of the team were mere mortals, when he did play he elevated them to godlike levels
Dalglish would have made Gerrard look an even better player, I am not sure Gerrard could have had the same impact on Kenny
Great players in their own right but I have Kenny a tad ahead but only by a hairs breadthBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
