Sad news but i'm kind of relieved. The way things have been going it was doing him, Rodgers & LFC no favours. I think he has been mismanaged a bit alright but maybe Stevie was too proud to want to play a bit part role in the twilight of his career.
Absolute legend and glad he chose a new challenge... good for him and god for the club.

To be honest we could of done just fine without him had he left a couple seasons ago. I also wont lie but I would of have liked to have see that happen. In fact I dont believe hes been the same since the season he was a whiskers length from joining Chelsea. I told a friend once that we'd never win the league with him still in the club. I also believe his influence and power behind the scenes at the club is also damaging.
And we already have a replacement for him. Henderson currently is perfect for captain. In the middle of the field he bosses everyone. Hes got a penchant to yell at players and also get into the face of the ref, which is something I want to see that Gerrard hasnt done in a long while. He was even doing it last game. We'll do just fine. No, we'll do better.

It's a real pity last season ended the way it did, it would have been fitting for Gerrard if we'd won the title and that would have been the perfect end to his Liverpool career. This season it has been painful to witness his decline, he has set his own standards and sadly he is nowhere close now. I'm glad he's going abroad, it would have been tough to see him playing for another team in the PL. Hopefully we can focus on the team without Gerrard, the Swansea game showed that we play with more drive and energy when someone else starts. No player is bigger than LFC, but Gerrard is an absolute legend and the best player to ever play in the PL when he was at his peak.

Gerrard has been fantastic for the club over the years. A model proffesional. I'm happy with his decision. It will be sad to see him leave.
Having said that. We play better football without him in the team nowadays. With the decision he has made. Its all the easier for Rogders to bench him for the remainder of the season

is a sad fact but it is time to go.
I am hoping this will relieve any pressure on Rodgers to bench him. Have to look for the future now.
Yesterday summed him up. Offers a fabulous penalty/ free kick but that more often than not is it now.
Best player I have seen in a Liverpool shirt and I saw Dalglish at the tail end of his career.

A sad day for all of us, this, nowt to say that hasn't already been said. Good luck to him.
We seem to find it difficult enough to tempt our main targets to make the move to Anfield, and we now have no big name players at the club at all for next season.
Its fair to say that Gerrard hasn't been at his best now for a while now, but I really can't remember a time that we've had no great player in the squad. Not since I was born have LFC not had one or two of the leagues stand out players in the squad.
We're close at times with Sterling and Sturridge, but I don't see either of them being in a Premier League 11, close when fit and in form, but those moments are too few and far between.
Its time for us to now unearth a diamond to replace one.SakhoPotatoes
