What happens to sentiment if Stevie is stinking the place out in the 1st half playing those Hollywood balls with no result? Genuine question. Hook him of give him time to turn it round?
Unfortunately we got to witness the very question I asked in the Build up thread.
Yet he almost scored a free kick, connected lovely with an overhead kick and played a quality first time flick to Lambert near the end. His average still is more dangerous than many others on the pitch. I think he would have seen more of the ball playing where Allen did. When you consider age and what's in the locker, sterling had a poorer game. Awful shot first half, didn't look up second half.

Gerard was awful and today summed up why he should not be starting.
The decision to take off Couts and leave him on was poor.
A captains performance that was not and I fear short term his street cred will be damaged if he continues to be picked in this fashion.
A decent enough freekick but he also wasted a **** load of set pieces with poor delivery. The contact with the overhead kick was good but it wasn't going to trouble the goal. His problem is that he can't keep up with the likes of sterling and Ibe or sturridge so he often misses the chance to support attacks. He also doesn't have the legs to track back when the opposition breaks.
