Interesting contrast between English and foreign players. Over the years, it has generally been the foreign players such as Macherano, Kuyt, Alonso and now Didi who appreciated Rafa's tactical knowledge and training whilst the English players like Stevie wants that pat on the back.

I guess we saw it during the world cup where English players complained about the lack of fun, boredom in hotel, etc whilst the Germans, Dutch, etc were focused on the World Cup.
    We going to win #19th!!

If you were an Everton fan i suppose he was, they hardly got a derby result, and we did that whole Champions league thing to them, and the way we did it too, and believe me that hurt....hurt baaaad.

I remember Rafa talking about the celebrations in the city, "We had all the lfc fans on the streets....magical, carnival atmosphere, and then from the Everton fans..... we had some Eggs....coming over the bus...hahaha...but luckily missing everyone".

Yep, it hurt real bad! So consequestly, not many Bitters have a good word to say about him.

In the space of about 4 days in 2009 we put 4 passed Real at home & then 4 passed the Scum at Old Toilet - Jesus we are MILES away from that now!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

then beat villa 5-0 and drew with arsenal 4-4 oh the good old days of scoring goals......in that negative defensive zonal marking team obviously.

I fear for Kenny this summer (dependent on what happens between now and then obviously)...if we don't manage 4th I wonder how FSG will react - allied to the off-field problems we've had.

IF....if that is the case, there would only be one man I want.

Yep, same here. But I don't think the owners would go for it.

If we don't get 4th, I don't how Kenny staying could be justified to be honest. And Comolli to an extent.

Do you reckon that Rafa burnt a bridge too many in the end? From the outside, the players seems to be split. Gerrard anti, Reina pro for example. But there a quite a few new ones.

The boardroom is all new apart from Ayre.
                          Oh I don't know.

Which is the reason why he won't come back soon in my opinion. He needs another job to prove himself and convince FSG he is the right man.

Who knows what FSG thought. Broughton's input would've been key as well.

I think Rafa's analytical approach actually fits in well with the sabermetics philosophy. He removes emotion from the equation, leaving only performance, form and fitness as the indocators when picking a team or squad.
                                Oh I don't know.
