Do you reckon that Rafa burnt a bridge too many in the end? From the outside, the players seems to be split. Gerrard anti, Reina pro for example. But there a quite a few new ones.
The boardroom is all new apart from Ayre.
really, you would give the greatest player ever to have graced the anfield turf, one and a half seasons while 'only' spending nett 40m oh and potentially taking home 2 trophies and cutting the wage bill. Not sure how you could justifty a sacking tbh

TBF our league performance has been no way near good enough and that paltry 40m nett was very badly used.

This year was always going to be hit and miss; a change in personnel, change in tactics, a new vision - Kenny needs longer than one and a half seasons.

I agree, and those 2 are obviously linked not saying we are doing great but every manager has a downing/Carroll transfer in the past.Originally posted by Mattshark View Post

Maybe he should wear a sandwich board round liverpool town centre saying ' I was the dick who bought Stewart Downing for 20m' and then he should be given another season

That is true, sadly for Kenny, his summer transfers in general have been a bit of mare despite a lot of money spent, we haven't gone forward at all from the second half of last season.Originally posted by red g View PostI agree, and those 2 are obviously linked not saying we are doing great but every manager has a downing/Carroll transfer in the past.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have another season, but he has not done a good enough job this season.

You & many others may be content with where we are at the moment but I am not - is that a crime?!Originally posted by Muddled View PostAre you always this pessimistic?
And it's not particularly this post, more *all* your posts, that are riddled with a whinging tone. Do you complain about a handjob not being a blowjob? Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

There would be division over any manger, there was over Kenny of all people so that's not an issue at all. I bet even if Mourinho was to take charge there would be a division, some people can never be pleased.Originally posted by Phoenix06 View PostKenny was in 3 jobs after he initially left spanning just under a decade before an eleven year 'absence.' The club has been transformed. No ex players under his management, few, if any remaining staff from before.
Plus, the fanbase were divided under Benitez in his final season. Last thing I'd want in another managerial appointment is division.Vive la France

I wouldn't say I'm content, but more objective and keen to look at the bigger picture. Going by the posts I've seem from you (recently, granted), they're defeatest, negative and offered without anything constructive.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostYou & many others may be content with where we are at the moment but I am not - is that a crime?!
But no, it's not a crime.

But in the other ear is Henry's new BFF Tomkins, who I think might have liked Rafa.Originally posted by Reece View PostI got the impression Ayre was anti Rafa (certainly towards the end) and would have poisoned the new owner's minds with his own thoughts. Obviously I have nothing to back this up, just my gut feeling.
That, and I don't think FSG would be the sort to go back to an ex.
I'm pretty sure Rafa has said numerous times since being unemployed that he'd have no problem working with a DOF. Whether or not he would (have no problems) is another thing...Originally posted by Muddled View PostGood points.
I don't think Rafa could work with Comolli as he'd want complete control over transfers etc. With Gerrard and Carragher nearing the end of their careers ...If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

By that Logic though, Hodgson should have been given longer.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI dont know what things are coming to when we've reached a point whereby we think 18 months is enough time for a manager to turn around a sinking ****.
18 ****ing months.
But I take your point.
*Except Michael, who died.
