        New contract tomorrow apparently.

Standard good news to cover up no new signings move.

It's like a new signing though!

He's withdrawn from the Germany squad due to an ankle injury.

Bugger. Hope it turns out to be a very minor injury and nothing that sees him miss more time with us.

Hope so as the lad is class on his day, and easily our best midfielder when on form.

I honestly can't remember him being injury free for more than 2 months at a time. Niggly or otherwise. We desperately need a classy CM, even if its not defensive. Can may not be able to carry the burden of expectation.

getting a bit of stick at the minute. Not sure if this is the correct article (no data left on phone and website blocked in work), but here's a different take I read yesterday...

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I thought he changed the tempo of the game yesterday when he took Stewarts place.

he seems to start games slow sometimes though, takes ten minutes to get to the pace

I think people over hyped him last season and now there is an over correction going on. His role seems to change game to game which is probably a bit of an issue for him short term, however in the long run it will probably help him fit Klopp's style. I think the way peoples opinions of Henderson have gone up and down is instructive in his case.

He does look a bit like a cumbersome slob at times.

Definitely better suited to the deeper role. His calmness under pressure is very impressive in that position and his driving runs forward are much more effective when he has space in front of him.

I was looking forward to seeing him play further forward this season and think he’s done reasonably well, but definitely looks much better in the holding position.

Didn't think he had one of his better games last night, too cumbersome on the ball - but then that was a common trait across the board. Origi and Mane were equally as bad as Can.

At the moment he seems to be better off the ball than on it, when he keeps things simple he's generally excellent.
