Racked up a comparison of our midfielders, which shows that Can isn't having a bad season. He offers some resilience in there, especially aerially.

I definitely feel like he's been sub par this season, particularly with possession but there may be a gear or two for him to move into in the latter half of this season.

It's part of his job. If there's nothing ahead he gives it back to lovren who sprays it left. Nowt wrong with a backwards pass that retains possession imo

          His is the lowest?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was wondering what your point was.

Yeah, he clearly has the highest, but its relative as he plays almost twice as many passes as any other midfielder. And considering he's in the controller position (such a wanky term) he's often going to knit the play with defence.

I think probably the clearest indication in that is just how important Henderson is to us.

That is my only issue with Hendo sometimes he receives the ball and first thought is the back pass where if he was turning he could get us pushing forward so much quicker

Especially with Lallana Firmino looking for the ball all the time .

we need to take it straight back to teams, not fanny around with 5-10 passes around the back 4/5 and allow the opo team time to spark up a bifter and have a chat about how their weekends going.

He is under instructions to keep the ball so I that sense there is nothing wrong with that.
                    Are we winning?

Given the way teams defend so deeply against us, we sometimes have to draw them out a bit and tease them with the prospect of an interception/tackle so that someone is out of position and there's a chance to then create some space further forward.

When we push forward quickly with the triangle passes thru them not many teams can live with us.

We seem to run out of ideas when we have all day on the ball and everyone keeps saying we are dominating possession , which is skewed because teams let us have the ball for so long at the back without any pressing.

Having the ball allows us to dictate the tempo and rest. You can't play quickly all the time.

but often their might be a runner or an option for a quick pass forward to keep the pressure on and some players will just allow the ball to come right back to retain possession. its like a wasted opportunity and lack of awareness of whats going on around them.
we all get that there will be times when we wont press and will take a breather but too often we make it easier for teams to pack their defence by allowing them time to get their **** back together.
