Yeah he's having a poor spell but we've seen how good he is when he's on it.
Problem is our Amir Khan has a glass jaw. He looked outstanding when he played central defence for almost a season, even I was sold on him. But then he moved back to his natural position in midfield and always looked a fraction of a second behind everyone else.

A very few handful of good games and some important goals are masking our opinion of him. I do hope Klopp can sprinkle his magic dust on him like he has on Lallana but we may not see any benefits until next season. Whether that impacts our top 4/title aspirations this season remains to be seen.

I disagree. It was his performances in midfield from shortly after Klopp arrived last season where I think he showed his best form. He only scored a couple of goals in that period and so weren't really a defining part of his game anyway.

I heard somebody say we should sell him and give Gerrard a contract for the second half of the season....

Not good enough to start at the moment IMO, good squad player but he's still young so not sure we should sell him. Biggest issue is he has no pace at all.

Thought he did pretty good today considering his recent performances
Oh triffic......so while you're up the road jollying it up, it's touch your toes time for Rodney

He was better today without being outstanding, same goes for most out there today in the middle. Still guilty of being caught in possession and loose balls, but he was getting in there, plenty of effort and work, and did contribute better than recently.
Has a lot to do before solidifying a first XI spot on a regular basis when everyone is available.

Yeah I thought it was his best match for a while & he really looked up for it. One of our best today.

It was an improvement but cannot be trusted to be composed all the time. Has the tendency to rush things out and that has cost us the ball in either good situations in attack or in defence today. Klopp did mention his inconsistency after the match. He'll struggle to hold a regular place next season when we sign Dahoud.
                      Are we winning?

I really thought he was going to have developed into a key player for us this season, but he hasn't got there yet, his form is still patchy and he doesn't look totally comfortable in our setup at the moment, hopefully that will improve.

I though he did better today than he has recently
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought he wasn't great yesterday to be honest. He gave the ball away/slowed down play a number of times in key areas/key moments. I also remember what looked Henderson having a right go at him during the first half and wijnaldum looked like he had to calm them a bit - it was just after we conceded a corner but iirc Can ****ed up which led to a move before the corner.

It seems Can is becoming the current go to 'moan/blame' player at the moment. So I am trying to not get pulled into that. I really like him, I think he has huge potential and I've seen him put in some magnificent performances and he's only what 22 (younger then kevin stewart!) plus he has brilliant hair...how does he get so much volume!

But my god when he doesnt play well, he looks bad. I remember saying it a while ago....because he's such a big frame that sometimes it makes him look really cumbersome.

I just don't think, at the moment he fits our team/style of play. Once he gets into his stride he looks like a magnificent beast running along but it seems to take him 5-10 yards to get into that stride and if he's not given that space he doesnt' get going...

he just doesn't quite look sharp/quick enough over 5 to 10 yards - which is ok...you can argue the likes of hamann and Alonso weren't quick over 5 yards.....but Can doesn't seem to think quickly either which is what those two were so good at. His touch isn't great and he doesn't half slow the play down trying to think about controlling it/get it out of his feet and play the pass.

as I've said I still like him, have faith he can succeed - but he needs to find his position and improve....at the moment he looks like he is running in snow.....Part of me wonders if is still carrying a bit of knock?

Can was the one who crossed for Wijnaldum's header and also passed to him for his scuff shot/

Thought he did a great job of getting forward yesterday,

I thought the midfield three done a great job when we were pressed back onto out penalty box as well.

Looks so much better when Hendo is in there.

That's the key. A midfield three of Hendo, Weeji and Can is probably our strongest line up when playing against the big boys.

i'd prefer Lallana back in there instead of can

                                hendo - wijnaldum - Lallana

he presses better and moves it better from defence to attack.

Unless of course - when you say big boys you big tall ****ers - in which case then Can starts to push for a place for his added height extra
