He has served us well & contributed to the team winning everything, so I’ll thank him for that.

I hope he does well for Real domestically, but bombs in CL.

You know we will 100% get Real in our league games for next years CL now.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Just look at the energy Bradley brought to the game when he came on. He just needs to stay fit to be first choice going forward.

Will he get signing on fee from Madrid.

I don’t really agree with the notion that a local lad should be obligated to stay at his club for his whole career, or until the club decide they don’t want him anymore.

No fee is frustrating, but he didn’t cost us one either and I don’t think that’s really a player’s responsibility. Especially at a financially stable club.

An outstanding and important player for us who won everything. I’ll be more than happy if our next player through the academy repeats a similar cycle to him.

I get how he’s tainted his legacy for others. He’s a Liverpool legend for me.
Exactly my thoughts. Having been a big part of some of the trophies we've won, he's more than repaid us financially and with memories that can't be bought, even if people are hung up about a lack of transfer fee.

I really hate Madrid for the way they operate, but mostly because of the recent history we had in games against them- the two finals, the other time they knocked us out, the ramos/salah incident, etc etc. it leaves a bad taste that our “scouser in the team” who was with us for all of that, is happy to go there. If ya can’t beat them, join them… would sting a lot less if he was off to Bayern or somewhere, and maybe I’d be able to wish him the best.

I’m not so sure it will work out the way he wants it to- I’m getting Coutinho to Barca vibes here, and hope his career does follow a similar trajectory.

What is refreshing is that a star player is choosing to leave, and I don’t feel like the team is gonna regress- I think about the dread I had when the likes of Coutinho, Suarez, Torres, etc were leaving- shows how much of a better place the club is in now.

Will we miss him? Ya probably at times, but I think it’s more likely that he’ll miss LFC.

I saw this written elsewhere and I agree with it

What will sicken me the most is that he will put in a huge shift at Real.

I’ve often defended Trent’s defensive abilities - he’s actually a solid defender. But something changed around 2 years ago (I think when Klopp inverted him) and he just didn’t give a **** about defending. Since then, he has been a defensive liability and I think his body language has been atrocious. Now this is speculation on my part, the timing is suspect given that his coincides with Real’s initial interest, but I know he’s had injuries (in his defence).

But I really wouldn’t be surprised if we see the hungry, determined Trent that we all saw during the peak of Klopp’s reign.

I think he's still our player when the club world cup bollocks is on so if Madrid want him to play that let's **** them for a few million

The number being banded around the past few months has been just over double that (45m) plus an extra 5m for his agent (brother).

Would be the sort of signing on fee that Real have given to a number of players to date.

Mbappe they went massive on with a signing on fee of well over 100m
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I don’t comment often at all, am a serial lurker, but this has me absolutely fuming! He’s known for two years that he was going and instead of respecting the club and us fans and dealing with it properly, he winds down contract so he can leave for free, just great that.

I know many say he owes us nothing, he’s won it all with us, gave us great memories blah blah blah, yes I suppose he did, but he also stood there, kissed the badge and told us that this was his forever club, his dream was that he wanted to captain the club etc etc, all bull****. His behaviour and his playing over last couple of seasons has at times been diabolical and we all stood up for him and supported him as one of our own, only for him to do this. People were pissed off with Coutinho, least he had the respect and courage to tell us he wanted to go, we got a decent fee and reinvested, he didn’t rat us out of 80-100 million.
Some making a lot of the 20 year thing as well, like he’s given us his soul for 20 years, think it’s way short of that, not to mention the club has invested everything into him during those years as well, it does go both ways. He’s dead to me now, will not be remembered for the goals, the amazing passes, the Barca corner or certainly not his defending, but instead be remembered for being a rat Judas!
Rant over…….back to lurking now ha ha ha ha

He’s not been a defensive liability though, there’s certainly been a narrative from some to paint this picture and it seems to be getting more adoption now it confirmed he’s leaving.

Trent has been an average to good defender but has been incredible at linking play, particularly in the attacking third. I don’t think there is another defensive player with his skill set in world football, hence Madrid moving for him.

We are going to struggle to replace his unique value, any suggestion other wise is deluded IMO
