Had a reasonable header that he should have got on target also. We won. Hopefully he steps up without Salah being there. Perhaps the added responsibility will bring the best out of him?

In his defence I don't think any were straight forward. The best chance was the 1v1... Suarez and Torres go round the keeper.

Not enough credit to the keeper on the 1v1, he was out fast and left little for Nunez to aim at. The sort of save we praise Ali for all the time, but in this case it is a stick to beat Nunez with. (not you SB, but others)

Yeah their keeper was inspired today & deserves more credit than the rest of their players combined.

He just needs to put in the work, both mentally and technically. When he's faced with the goal does time slow down or does it seem rushed to him....
I think his composure, passing and balance have all improved this season. So positive steps forward so far.

Yeah so frustrating jesus christ. He has to start putting those away, amount of chances he gets and there is such lack of composure it's worrying. Said it few times regarding Nunez, at his best when playing on instinct but **** me when he has time to think.. the outcome is usually poor. Nothing is delicate or calm with him, everything is 100mph and smashing the **** out of the ball like a tazmanian devil.

The weird thing is, his assist for Mo needed him to be composed and he was. Why he can’t do the same thing with consistency when he is shooting, I’m not sure.

There has to be a player there though, you don’t get 34 goals in a season if you’re a rubbish finisher.

I know he doesn’t really think this, but when i see him blasting it fairly centrally and straight at the keeper, it feels like he thinks the objective is to just hit the target - and its job done.

Now of course, the first prerequisite to scoring is hitting the target. But the ability to side foot pass it beyond the keeper’s reach & into the net - and we’ve had many top finishers over the years who did that regularly - seems to be beyond him at the moment.
