Remember when Suarez hit the post more times than cars did at Woodmere Avenue? It's not like Nunez hasn't scored 30+ goals in a season before

Suuarez was hitting great numbers for a few seasons with Ajax. The Nunez season looks like an outlier at present.
Also Suaraz always looked a class above everyone else on the field.
If Nunez scored all these goals, We would still be saying he is offisde to much and needs to improve self control but who gives a **** if he socres 20+ goals._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

Not sure TAA is the one to give advice at present with regards to not hitting the woodwork.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

If Nunez starts, it should be on the left wing imo. He's just not clinical enough to be our CF but on the left at least he causes that bit of chaos. Diaz on the right might be a good shout too as he has got very predictable cutting inside from the left.
Whilst Mo is away for me it's Nunez-Jota-Diaz

It's a tough one with Nunez & Gakpo, as neither are really impressing & both are polar opposite and have very different attributes. Nunez is always in a game, he's always busy, he is also he is headless and inconsistent but at least he causes opposition to work. Gakpo is technically superior and a better link player but he goes completely missing in games & is very passive. Ideally we'd have someone better than both.

No bump for the evolved one today??
Two more assists for him to bring his assist tally for the season to 10.
Less than 1700 minutes on the pitch this season in all comps and has 8 goals and 10 assists.
Cannot fault him for any of his shots on target that were not goals last night either because if Alisson made some of the saves Leno did we would be lauding him and not saying the shot taker was poor.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He was so unbelievably unlucky not to score last night with that snap shot, it was an unreal save. If it clicks for him he is going to be an absolute monster.
He looked super confident last night.
**** happens when he plays, misses, saves, assists and goals for everyone but him
Modifying post.

Think that is maybe his greatest strength.
He can miss two or three attempts on goal, then 30 seconds later he is chasing hard to win back a ball or having another crack on goal.
The guy never hides and even when he looks like he is starting to gas he will still put himself about and offer himself as an outlet for others.
Double figures for assists at the midway point of the season is no mean feat and whilst we would all love if he was getting more goals, getting a lot of assists is the next best thing.
The way he is going (his goals and assists per minutes), he could finish the season on something like 14 goals and 18 assists in all comps. Now Salah will finish with a much higher g+a return for the season but if Nunez gets something like what I suggested (or better) that's a pretty decent return and most likely will be our second highest g+a return within the squad.
And it is not even a total pie in the sky guess either, it is based on his current conversion rates along with his g/a vs mins played so not even basing it on him having an uptick in form.
Do find a lot of his assists to be really interesting as he has a knack of getting into postions where he can play a pass that puts the finishing player in a place where they have very little to do other than to tap it in. He rarely plays a ball that relies on the receiver then having to jink around a keeper or run some distance to get in a shot.
Think the only forward/striker that I can recall getting a similar amount of assists to goals is Sheringham when he was at Man U (though Nunez is reversing that by getting more assists than goals). Not comparing them in terms of skill set or style of play, just in their ability to create what ends up looking like simple chances for others. That ability to be able to play a final ball that usually only requires a tap in or close range finish.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Unlucky? If it was just one game, but there is a pattern. He just isnt that great at shooting (or decisions on where to shoot in terms of power and placement), and until he learns to place shots, I dont think we will see a massive improvement on that side of things.
Whats confusing to me is that he can be calm and collected enough to get so many assists, which can require a lot more thought than shooting which can be more instinctual. For me he is a complete enigma. Maybe he just get a headrush everytime he shoots. I guess if he can learn to stop shooting and pass to others instead he could end up breaking assist records.
Im just pleased that despite all that he is making a positive impact by being in the right place at the right time. I think Klopp will be a lot happier too with his runs and general play outside the box.
I think is about finding the right synergy in the front 3, and Nunez does look like he can combine well with all of the other strikers. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I saw on Twitter that he has more combined G&A than Martinelli and Saka combined….. and either a G or A per 90 do those are good numbers. The unfortunate thing for him is he will always be “judged” on goals and his misses get held against him, especially while that ****ing cyborg puts up big numbers.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostNo bump for the evolved one today??

I think last night he was unlucky, that was a v good save in fairness. The other thing that is really important is that he is always in the game, he makes chances, he chases and works, he worries opposition defences. Haaland does nothing in general play but he always scores! In the games he doesn’t he is fairly anonymous
