Yours for £20m! Liverpool seek to offload flop Carroll... and Newcastle line up sensational return
    By Sportsmail Reporter

Newcastle are ready to offer Liverpool flop Andy Carroll an incredible exit from his Anfield nightmare by tabling a bid for their former striker.

The Tyneside-born forward was subject of a dramatic £35million transfer deadline day swoop last January, much to Geordie fans' dismay.

But Newcastle boss Alan Pardew could be in line to make a stunning bid to bring Carroll back to his native North East.

The stunning development follows reports that a top agent rang Newcastle to offer them 23-year-old Carroll for just £20m.
Newcastle rejected the proposal and a second offer of £15m plus add-ons.

The Magpies are prepared to offer £10m — £25m less than Liverpool paid for the England international just 12 months ago.
Carroll would also have to take a huge cut on his £90,000-a-week wages at Anfield.

Carroll has managed a paltry four league goals since joining from St James' Park 12 months ago and would relish the chance to rekindle the form which made him the most expensive English player in history.

He was bought to partner Uruguayan star Luis Suarez in the wake of Fernando Torres' record £50m switch to Chelsea.
But the pair have failed to hit it off — and Carroll has grown increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role.

Carroll couldn't even making the starting line-up for Friday's FA Cup tie against League One side Oldham and had to wait 87 minutes before coming on as a substitute and scoring in the 5-1 victory.

Carroll is expected to start the Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, but even a marked improvement in form would not halt rumours of his impending departure.

Pardew has a huge gap to plug in attack after hotshot striker Demba Ba jetted off to play at the Africa Cup of Nations last week.
The Senegal international has bagged 15 goals for the Magpies this term, including a stunner in the recent 3-0 victory over Manchester United.

The win over the Champions signalled a turnaround in fortunes for the Tyneside club who are pushing hard for Champions League football this season.

A challenge made all the harder in the absence of the Barclays Premier League's joint second top goalscorer.

Carroll bagged 11 goals in 20 appearances for Newcastle last term before his switch to Merseyside and his arrival could help the club maintain their top four ambitions.

Its plain this is agents trying to get a deal going and Newcastle leaking this in the hope of suckering LFC in

I'd be VERY surprised if Carroll was sold in January even more shocked if he was sold for anywhere near £10-15 million

I'd be happy enough if he went for £20m of that was straight away invested in a striker that can score goals and would fit into our systems, I really like Carroll I just think with our lack of quality crossing, and our fluid pass and move football that doesn't really suit his style he is a bit of a square peg. It's frustrating to watch him sometimes, and it's not very nice watching him because it's so clear he's trying

It's fine everyone saying get rid of him if we get a decent offer, but we are short of strikers, Kuyt is off form, Bellamy's playing wide and can't play two games a week. That would leave us with only Suarez. I can't see it happening (in this window at least).
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Talk Spite have been reporting this story/non story/rumour about us offering AC to NCstle, which makes me wonder whether Kenny will feel a rebuttal is necessary, if it's un true.

If there is none forthcoming, many will assume Kenny want's rid.

I was hoping Carroll would come good for us, I don't think he's had a decent run of games so I feel sympathy for him. The lad played his best football for Newcastle, if there is any truth in this then it would be in everyone's best interests to let him go. He didn't really cost us £35m so letting him go for £20m wouldn't equate to a £15m loss, it just means that we got £35m for Torres - not £50m.

Carroll is absolute poo and should never have been anywhere near our club.

But we should not sell for less than £20m and perhaps even £25m.

Is he worth that? Hell no. But if Crouch at his age was worth £10m then Carroll is worth more in the right team.

If we sell for any less than a minimum of £20m then we will look like absolute muppets in the transfer market and KDs position would come under scrutiny

Probably just Lambias reminding everyone what a big man he is.

25m and they can have him back.

not convinced he'll ever make it at the top level and for that sort of cash we can do a lot better.

maybe a swap deal and cash for tiote ?
