Considering all the much proclaimed attributes of 'Future England Captain' Jones, I believe he is vulnerable aerially as demonstrated in the Stoke game, a confident Carroll could annihilate him.
But the one thing I have been disappointed with is Carrolls ariel ability. It could be the quality of crosses, and his confidence, but I expected to see a bit more threat in the air. He seems to be better with the ball at his feet. Not sure what his head/foot scoring ratio is, but I thought we were getting a player who was powerful and accurate in the air.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

If gerrard's fully fit, I still wouldn't start Carroll tbh.

Carroll will definitely play against the Scum's fragile defence imo...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

I'd agree, United are poor at the back at the moment and better sides would have stuck a few past them yesterday.

Agree but where is their defensive vulnerability the most obvious? In the air? I think aerially, is where they're strongest at the back. On the ground is a different story. Pace and good passing/movement is what unlocks them IMO, rather than aerial threat.

I'm hoping he's going to put it about a bit against Man Utd. He has to start. He has to be allowed to see if he can get a run of games to gain form. He has played a lot better in the last two games, and with the goal against Everton, a goal against United (or even a good game against Utd) will put some bounce into his step.

I just wish we'd stop these long cross field lumps into the box from full back. He can finish with his left foot perfectly well too, as seen yesterday.

I think FEC Jones is not as great as he's been made out in the air but yeah on the deck the likes of Suarez and Downing could really cause them issues.

I'd like to see Gerrard start instead of him and bellamy instead of downing. Basically, the team that finished yesterday.

Dropping Carroll after he's played well the last two games would be beyond idiotic.

He should start because of the last two games. He might just be playing into confidence.

I didn't think he played very well yesterday, it was a good goal and a lovely finish, but overall, his game was average.

He nearly scored a hat trick & he's a striker. Spin it whatever way you want he had a good game. One of the few to come out of the spurs game with any credit too but you had the ones with their minds made up criticize him after that game too.

I'm pretty sure Kenny will be starting him against the mancs anyway. Especially when Suarez most likely wont be, or if he does he'll be no where near full fitness and be getting subbed.

**** off, I'm sorry that I expect more from a striker than just goals, but I do.
And be so ignorant to tell me think about players and their performances.
