Stewart Downing - West Hahahaham player

A lot of people have had it with Downing. I think I may be one of them. Offered no width, did so little with the ball and very static overall in his movement. Am I being a knee-jerker in contemplating selling him in the summer?

Haha so true. It's not like he was making any sort of impact that he should have been disappointed. Total and utter ****e from him, as expected.

any sub standard player needs to be replaced. if they can only be replaced from the reserves then so be it. i would prefer someone putting the effort in than carrying expensive, overpaid, lazy, inept passengers.
and im not just talking about downing...
i have said this several times, but players like downing, adam, henderson are consistently poor. i am not interested about the player they might become in a few more years... top dollar was paid for the player they are now... they should be 1st team ready. if not, dont play them and cost us points/games/CL

The thing that annoys me the most about Downing is his lack of flight and fact he is not even trying, if he was but was still **** would have some sort of sympathy for him , but he is not good enough and we need to get rid of him in the summer

Could do with seeing someone challenging for the left hand side. Sterling is probably too young. Downing doesn't seem to fit any system we play, which is a real worry. he can't play on his favoured side, he can't play on the right. He can't beat a man, he can't cross the ball. He never takes responsibility and looks to pass it back to whichever fullback is unlucky enough to be playing behind him.

He doesn't even seem to be able to track back and assist, Enrique is out of form and could have doen with Downing doing some defensive graft today. He didn't do it at all. We have signed a complete dud. Arguably the worst money signing we have ever made.
