This is a pointless statement. Cisse is potentially the best player in the world if he can learn how to control a ball, dribble with a ball, see a pass and learn how to finish. But it's very unlikely to ever happen, same for Owen ever playing a full season at a top club.

If I'm a fool then so is Rafa, Fergie, Mourinho, Wenger and all the mangers around the world who haven't taken up the opportunity to bid for Owen. Even his current manager doesn't want him.

I've posted the goal record of each of our current strikers at their most recent club, I haven't ****ing made it up, the stats are there for all to see and none of them are prolific goal-scorers.

Kuyt's record in the Netherlands was very good, but again it compares unfavourably with Van Nistelrooy's. And from watching him last season, it's clear Kuyt is not a natural finisher, he misses loads of chances, simple as that. I'll say it again, a 1 in 2 record in eredivisie is not the equal of a 1 in 2 in the premier league.
Post the goal record of Owen at his current club and compare it to our strikers then
Owen's goal record doesn't stand up against Van Nistelrooy's, indeed not many do.

i dont think its a gamble.

why the evidence is there to be reasonably confident in him not being fit for any length of time.

and the odds may be different but the outcome is the same it will not happen.

The only people who want to sign Owen, it seems, are a bunch of LFC internet fans.

What a sad generalisation. Expected a more reasoned argument from you especially.

true, please add "ignorant" in front of "LFC internet fans".

If you don't agree with it then give me some examples of teams who have tried to sign him after FAT SAM pimped him out?

Dont be such an arrogant **** - people are entitled to their opinion and being labelled ignorant for wanting a world class striker for £9mill is hardly that.

                :whatever:

Getting a few months of fitness, and drastically improving aspects of his game where he has shown very little competence. Good comparison. You Clown.

You're writing Owen's career off, he's 27 and loads of players have come back from serious injuries. There's nothing to say that he can't recover and play a reasonable amount of games

I said you're a fool for not recognising that Owen is a better finisher than every player in that list (again, with fitness), and only Rooney from the list is on a par with him, who incidentally is the only one of those players who any of 'Rafa, Fergie, Mourinho, Wenger' has bought. If all those players are better than Owen, then why are they playing for likes of Portsmouth, Spurs, Everton, West Ham etc.

Yes, injury prone ex-world class? He left us to search his success, he hurt us badly. People don't want him not becoz he is not good but many of us hate him:whatever:

Let me say this, what I can accept is that teams are not signing Owen because of his injury record and that alone.

It is absolute bull IMO to suggest that Liverpool, or any other club, would not be interested because of him as a player or as a person.

Calm down dear, you'll soon get booted if you go around calling people clown's in such an aggressive manner.

The fact is, Owen has shown as much competance at getting fit as Cisse has at being a great player.

What's your definition of "reasonable amount of games"? Ask yourself the question "Why is no manager in the world trying to sign him and why is his own manager trying to flog him?".
You are quoting other players as examples, the difference is Owen was first choice for LFC and England every game for many years starting when he was just a teenager. There aren't many players who have done the same, that is why he is burnt out and may never recover to play a full season of football in the top flight.
We can't afford passengers if we are to challenge.

Firstly, I'm not interested in opponents, I'm interested in our players, so whatever list you are referring to is irrelevant to me. Compare him to our strikers.
Secondly, we'll see where Newcastle finish compared to Spurs, Portsmouth, Everton and West Ham

When have I ever said that? I've said he's finished and that is the reason.
