Thanjk you.

look at his injury record over his career look at the types of injury he has had.
its not like Stevie G who had injuries when younger but is now doing alot better (touch wood) or Jamie who has had a couple of bad injuries and come back.
owen has always had injuruies and the type he has had will not go away
please tell me how he will suddenly become injury free?
he wont will he you know that but you seem to ignore this knowledge for some reason

I never said he would be completely injury free. I was observing that you lot seem to think he'll play a handful of games then be out for a year. What's to say he will?
If he can avoid a season-long injury, which is quite possible and maybe play 20-25 games, then he'll be well worth the £9m, because quite simply he is a better goal-scorer than any player we have, and only Torres is on a par with him overall.

Paying 9 million for a player who might be fit for 2 thirds of the season is a waste of time if you're attempting to challenge for the title.
We can't afford passengers, why would we even bother?

What's your definition of "reasonable amount of games"? Ask yourself the question "Why is no manager in the world trying to sign him and why is his own manager trying to flog him?".
You are quoting other players as examples, the difference is Owen was first choice for LFC and England every game for many years starting when he was just a teenager. There aren't many players who have done the same, that is why he is burnt out and may never recover to play a full season of football in the top flight.
We can't afford passengers if we are to challenge.
It's not a foregone conclusion that he can't play 20 games, we'll have to wait and see with that one, but it's presumptuous to say his career is over.
And we can't afford passengers if we are to challenge? You're in the Voronin fanclub, hmm.
your arguement is all ifs. lets see what happens to Mr Owen. how many games he plays per season over the rest of his career.
i would lovethe Owen that we had around the late 90s early 00s but that owen doesnt exist.
you cant or wont see it i dont know why
Errrr, NO, your argument is all "if's".
So let's suppose Owen score 1 goal every 2 games but only plays 20 games. That's 10 goals.
Torres has a record better than 1 in 3 but let's suppose it's 1 in 3.
Over 38 games that's 12-13 goals. Better than Owen. So tell me, why will Owen make the difference to us winning the league?

That is so unbelievably irrelevant I can't quite believe you said it. What a load of ****e.

You see.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why this Hooz can easily be dismissed as a WUM.
Anyone prepared to slag off our own players, players who have hardly kicked a ball for our club but has put in 2 MOM performances in 3 games, and support an opponent as though he is some kind of messiah even though his own manager and fans don't want him; is a WUM

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. I'm not slagging Voronin off, but he's done nothing in his career to suggest that he can significantly improve us, a couple of decent displays in a pre-season friendly doesn't mean anything really. I don't expect much from Voronin, I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
To dismiss Owen as a 'passenger' but get a hard on for Voronin is the height of idiocy.
I'm not saying Owen is a 'messiah', but he is a better finisher than any of our current strikers and for £9M I think he's a worthy gamble.
