    Typical nonsense.

When it comes to Kuyt, you don't want to talk numbers.
When it comes to Torres you do want to talk about numbers.

At the end of the day, your sad devotion to an opposition striker gives your true identity away. No point in wasting anymore time on you.

    You're not fooling me

Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

My saying that Owen can be the Britain's most prolific striker hinges entirely on him being fit for atleast a few months. Also note 'potentially'. I know there's no guarantee of his fitness, but in the same way, who's to say that he can't get 2/3 months of football.

With fitness, even without the speed he once had, he is better than every single one of those strikers you mentioned.

            ..And Keane's not british.
I'm not ignoring anything, I'm just getting sick of repeating myself.

            It's all ifs-and-buts with you, isn't it?

Do you really think anybody here needs to be told how good Michael Owen "potentially" is?

Come back when he has proven his recovery and turned that "potential" into consisent, injury-free performances and we'll have a meaningful debate.

Earlier, you were the one calling for everybody to stick to the facts. Well, your man Michael Owen has played 14 games in 2 years rendering your argument nothing more than a sandcastle.

And yes, I realise Eire is not part of Great Britain. Classic conversational terrorism technique of a WUM. Well done.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Id take him for 9 million great player and he's worth it for 9 million even witht he questions of his injuries........

I think you make some valid points mate - but you can't dismiss Torres's rate of 1 in 2.5 in an average side in La Liga. I too think we'd be better in terms of goals output with Owen in the squad, and would much rather have had him than Voronin. But you have to say Voronin looks like he's settled very quickly - and who knows how many goals he'll get. Granted no-one is proven in the Prem except Crouch at this stage (who had a high goals / starts ratio last season, but has still only scored 17 league goals for us in 2 years), but we have to give the others a chance.

i like the way that the people who say owen should come back for £9M all say the word if.

Even the most hateful of owen bashers are not likely to disagree that a fit owen is a class player.

But when exactly was owen last fit for any length of time?

he hasnt been and i can not think of anyone who has the record of owen suddenly becoming fit and not having injuries.

its a simple question but Hooz why can you not see this?

is this becasue acknowledging that fact would mean you would have to stop winding us up

why dont we sign rush. if he can stay fit for a few months then he will get goals his record shows that does it not?

That's what I've been saying. Wait until next year, see how long he's been fit for and then buy him for a cut price deal. Im not saying i want it, its just that you have to take it into consideration.

However this is all based on an if.

                          Well that's the gamble.

He's had a terrible time with injuries recently but that doesn't mean his career is over. If he can play 20 games for us then he's worth having. You seem to think that he'll play 3 games then be out for a year, which is just as speculative as me saying he can play a few months without injury. It's a gamble.

It's not nonsense at all, you're a ****ing fool if you think Owen isn't potentially (there, I said it again) better than that lot listed.

I've posted the goal record of each of our current strikers at their most recent club, I haven't ****ing made it up, the stats are there for all to see and none of them are prolific goal-scorers.

Kuyt's record in the Netherlands was very good, but again it compares unfavourably with Van Nistelrooy's. And from watching him last season, it's clear Kuyt is not a natural finisher, he misses loads of chances, simple as that. I'll say it again, a 1 in 2 record in eredivisie is not the equal of a 1 in 2 in the premier league.

Christ, I think the odds are slightly different.

You've completely written the chance of Owen getting a run of fitness off.

Anyway, let's agree that it's a gamble, I think it's worth taking, you think it's not.
