i think fsg will stick by their man for a time, but i agree that if this drags on too long, he will come under pressure. which is fair enough i think, the way to relieve pressure is to win matches, and if that doesn't happen, we have to look after the club.

i'll say it though. i do think that rafa would have us in a better position now with the backing of fsg. still want kenny to succeed though.

i sort of think that. However there is the fact that there looked to be problems in the squad when he left. Would he have to get rid of some ofthe squad when coming back?

No because we played in the CL and finishing in the top four wasn't as important as it is now and Rafa didn't get a lot of money to spend on new players.

Now we must finish in the top four or we won't be able to compete in the transfer market because of the new rules.

We need the CL money to be able to make the next step. No CL means at least £30m less to spend on players and wages. We don't have a big stadium and that means that the CL money is a must.

Playing in the CL next season is a must.

your argument is almost suggesting that it is okay to spunk 75m on Downing, Henderson and Carroll because their wages are cheap!!! (i'd consider that to be saying that a Fiesta for the same price as a Merc S-class because the running costs are way cheaper!!!)

and for what it's worth, i am not arguing that Aguero should have been signed - we missed the boat on him back when he chose Atletico over us...... however, Mata, Ashley Young, Llorente, Benzema could all have been achievable.....

Yeah cause he's a wee nipper that hasn't done nothing in his career. Kenny was a legend for what he done for this club both as a player & as a manager, long before we had Rafa FC fans.

What I want to know is will the next manager get his head called for too in a ridiculously short amount of time. Just cause he's not a certain Spaniard.

Was is irrelevant, we need now. And he has a lot of work to do.

P.S. I have not or will not call for his head at this stage & i wasn't a big fan of Rafa either, but he did well in early days for us and credit to him for that

I think that FSG will give him until the end of December. If we are 10+ points off fourth by then, then they will sack him and give a new manager the money to rebuild the team in January.

How predictable the original poster gets attacked for having the temerity to call for Dalglish to go. Great player yes. **** manager and needs to go before he causes any more damage.

If we had drawn at home to Sunderland, Norwich and Swansea scoring 2 goals in the process under Hodgson people wouldn't hesitate to call for his dismissal but not Dalglish.

I don't recall us getting tanked 4 0 under Hodgson either.

Dalglish has wasted £85 million on dross. Considering the Suarez deal was done before he took over, his only decent signing has been Enrique. That's a pretty poor record. For example, who would you rather spend £35 million on - Aguero or the Carroll?

I'm not a big fan of most of his signings except Enrique and I voiced my opinion about it few times but let's look at obvious facts.

He picked up Carroll cause he needed a striker after El Cuntino left and Carroll was the one of the most promising strikers, and played really well before the injury, that was available during January transfer window and he seemed the logical choice in those circumstances. Not the price but the player himself.

Downing was the best Villa player last year and English International and the winger that we needed for a long time and I can get that buy too.

Adam, for the most of the last season, was revelation at Blackpool and missing out on the move in January affected his game but still pretty player to consider.

Enrique turned to be a great buy so no need to talk about him.

Hendo is the only one that I was really puzzled by as there was no need to go after him this early but he felt that he may miss out on him so fine.

The bottom line he went with British based proven players, for the most part, as he tried to minimize the risk and I don't think he could have predicted that most of those will play so poorly thus far and literally let him down.

i struggle to see how some fans really dont think Rafa was good.

I dont think its a case of you like Rafa or you like whoever cant you like them both?

We have been lucky in many of our managerial appointments.

only bodge was a total failure since shanks walked through the doors.

even the ones that didnt do well brought us success that many many clubs would love.

Believing Kenny (who's a great manager) is far superior to Rafa as one, doesn't amount to disliking Rafa as a manager.
