Still a long way to go but we certainly need to start clicking sooner rather than later.

11 times we've hit the woodwork, fine margins seem to be going against us but you do I guess make your own luck
And who is our only goal threat? The answer is Suarez. You don't really expect anyone else to score. That is why I predicted some fantasy scores in our latest games and Suarez to score almost all of them.

Is it money well spent when we only have one goal threat?

I would even say that Morgan would have done better than Carroll. So why splash out £35m on a player instead of giving him a chance?

Is Carroll really that much better than Morgan? Would Morgan missed sitter after sitter the way Carroll do?

Carroll is probably the better player but Morgan is no doubt the better finisher.

But you know, Kenny need to be given time he only splashed out £100m so far. Who cares if it may cost us Suarez and Enrique in the summer if we miss out on the CL? The important thing is that Kenny is given time. That is more important than keeping our best players.

How many believe that Suarez and Enrique will stay if Barcelona or Real Madrid make a bid and we missed out on the CL, again?

If we lose them then we are yet again back on square one.

I take it your point is why did we buy Carroll?

If it's that I'll remind you we had a player that was desperate to jump ship and leave us in the lurch, showed no loyalty at the time and thought about himself and nobody else (it's worked out well for him so far by the way) due to the late nature of him wanting to go, us not wanting to keep an unhappy player and if we'd let him go without bringing in a replacement serious misgivings towards FSG would have occured I think we took a punt on Carroll, not worked so far but we had to get someone in to cover Torres leaving.

We could do with an extra striking option as we're not good enough in front of goal at the moment but building a strong squad takes time, we have the nucleus of a decent squad but we're still missing a couple of game changing players, don't forget the mess we were in 2 seasons ago up until when FSG and Kenny came back

So why buy an injured player instead of waiting until the summer? If we really wanted Carroll then no doubt we would have got him for £35m a few months later. No other club would be stupid enough to pay that much for him.

Why not give a player like Morgan a chance instead the few months that was left of the season and then make our move in the summer?

Me too, we did an incredible job there. Not really got any bad players in the squad now unlike the last few seasons, just need another big window to take that next step but we've seemingly been saying that for years!

from my previous post! Remember there was still the spectre of the previous American owners hanging over us, selling an idol like Torres and not replacing him would have been PR suicide for them, they wanted to show they weren't here to strip the assets from the club and not like the previous regime.

and if we'd let him go without bringing in a replacement serious misgivings towards FSG would have occured I think we took a punt on Carroll, not worked so far but we had to get someone in to cover Torres leaving.

Fair enough but it is still a big ? to why we rushed things. Carroll was clearly not the number one option. We tried to sign Gomez but Bayern turned us down.

I don't think that many would have moaned if we had waited until the summer and given Morgan a chance but that is my opinion.

                        Emery or Ancelotti.

I think there would have been a massive uproar if we'd sold Torres and not replaced him, absolutely massive. FSG could have been seen as the continuation of H&G if they'd not been careful and after what we'd been through for the previous 3 years I'm pretty sure they'd have been mindful of that.

Kenny was clearly not the number one option. FSG admitted that themselves. They wanted a younger manager.

                            They had doubts about him.

They never said who they wanted but it isn't that difficult to figure out that the manager they wanted was Villas Boas but that is my opinion.

They could have been seen like that but I don't think so because Torres left very late in the window. It would have been a difference if he left the first week in the window, a massive difference.
