No one will know better than Carra when it's time for him to take a back seat, at the moment he'll be trying harder than anyone to get his game together but I'm sure he'll be the first to realise when his first team days are up, He's is such an honest hard worker with abounding enthusiasm for the club that makes him a huge part of the team set up, When his first team days are over I hope he's still here in a coaching role, There's not a better role model our youngsters could have.

How anyone can't see that Carra has been that way is whole career is beyond me.
Oh, and before you tell me professional footballers should be different. They're no fitter then most good sunday league athletes, they just better at what they do.

See I disagree- it is exactly his enthusiasm which will make it very difficult for him to let go of the 1st team spot. I do agree he can make a great back-up & still be a great influence though, if he learns to be calm and reflective about these things like Sami was tho.Originally posted by Fan65 View PostNo one will know better than Carra when it's time for him to take a back seat, at the moment he'll be trying harder than anyone to get his game together but I'm sure he'll be the first to realise when his first team days are up, He's is such an honest hard worker with abounding enthusiasm for the club that makes him a huge part of the team set up, When his first team days are over I hope he's still here in a coaching role, There's not a better role model our youngsters could have.3rd place. Let's be honest though, it's a bit 'Mind Your Language'..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

That's actually very good analysis of both of them.Originally posted by Arn View Post
It is actually other players that need to cover for Carra and Gerrard when they drift out of position. Gerrard for example is a no go as a central midfielder because of that problem. Carra isn't quick enough to cover behind the right fullback when he attacks and that is a big problem. He tries to cover up his positional problem by blaming other players. You can often see him covering in the other central defenders zone because he don't trust them to do the job good enough when he should cover his own zone instead.
He should address his own defensive frailties before he starts mouthing off (sorry "organising") team-mates who, unless I'm mistaken, will be aware of what to do at set-pieces etc without his unwanted input. No wonder Arbeloa told him to do one a couple of seasons back.

Exactly what I thought too.
What would happen if he got demoted now then? Would he stay and become our new Hyypia? Would he join Bolton? Drop down a division or two? Straight to coaching / management?
I really couldn't see him playing for another club tbh.

I thought Carragher once said he'd consider moving if he felt he still had something to offer but wasn't getting games.Originally posted by Lee View Post

It pains me to say, but he was terrible again today. Personally at fault for at least 2 of thier goals, particularly the last (bent over panting while the rest of the defence pushed up, leaving Adaboy miles onside).
You've been a brilliant servant to the club Jamie, but its time to step aside and warm the pine for a bit mate.
